Good point, there is a little bondo. The weight reduction from rust may be compensated for somewhat by the bondo. One of my concerns has to do with the travel on the aftermarket shocks. Another is the profile, do not want her to squat before I put a load on her. So matching the weight of the... -

Thanks to everyone for the tremendous response. I am sure there are different weights for different years as GM started shaving lbs on the truck models during this era in order to comply with mpg and emissions regulations. I think I will put my bed on my trailer and scale it. Will post the result. -

Thank you, I replaced my 1/2 ton springs with 3/4 ton springs a few years back. Purchased from St. Louis Spring, a very reputable company. She is quite stiff as well. -

Thank you, Payload is one of my concerns. I do already have 3/4 ton springs. That is why I am trying to determine original weight. May just put the original bed on my trailer and scale it if I do not get a definitive answer. Aluminum may be the answer. -
