    Differential setup

Jantz Engineering,I apologize. His channel has a videos that explains exactly where you want your pattern. @bucket,I can see that real pressure wasn’t applied to the marking compound by how faint it is. Someone mentioned thinning it out,and that’s exactly right.I learned this later after...

    Differential setup

I like it.It needs to have more resistance as you turn and check the pattern. Even with 5 thousandths of backlash, you have to put out.Leather gloves or a rag.

I’d like to get one sir. Please let me know.

How much slack to too much slack?

I don’t have instagram.Or any other social media besides this forum. If you’re talking about backlash,20$ from Harbor Freight will get you tools to measure properly. You need a dial indicator and magnetic base that holds it. There is many videos on yt that shows you exactly how to do this...

Turn signal issue/ brake light issue

Well,I think you’re right about a broken line, bad connection. Yes,that’s the only ground on the tail section from factory. I would think it’s most likely from the end of the frame, where it plugs and Ts off to each side.

    SM465 X 2.5 gears

    I think it’s a good idea in theory,but the jump from 1st to 2nd on a SM465 is long.It would take a brute of a motor to take up the slack.Towing would be a sh@t show. The SM465 is a 3 speed + granny.I don’t even use it hunting.So technically I’m saying the jump from 2nd to 3rd

Engine swap for street and towing

And now, diesel is maybe not the hottest choice for a upgraded engine or new truck. I guess if you did the bio route on a 12 valve. yes,the carb would work.no electronics is nice, but altitude changes can greatly effect your carb.Fuel injection is becoming somewhat more reasonable in costs.

Engine swap for street and towing

Yes sir,it was bad. What was worse is I loved that truck…no DEF. I didn’t look at Ram before I bought mine this year, but I’d have to think they also added a new multi gear trans?I know the Chevy and ram both sport a 31 gallon fuel tank,my range full is over 600 miles, with my 2012 I was lucky to...

Engine swap for street and towing

Also I might add that the Duramax’s 20mpg is unloaded.Haven’t towed with it yet.And my best guess on my 84’s fuel mileage towing through mountains was 4-6,maybe.I could actually watch the gauge go down.Probably the biggest hinderance of all, even with 42 gallon reserve tank.

Engine swap for street and towing

I towed my 28’ bumper pull this past elk hunt through some mighty steep mountains.Healthy 383,4 speed manual,4.10 gears. That’s a experience.I’m doing it again and again. However, had it not been for the SM465,not really sure if I could of done it,not with no small block.440 foot pounds from 2500...

What have you done to your square lately??

Also,if you guys are suffering from not so bright lights, the painless heavyduty headlight harness is the ticket.Power supply to headlights comes directly off the battery, not the light switch. Now the switch just activates relays.(I’m sure 38 year wiring wasn’t helpful either) Low Beams

What have you done to your square lately??

If anyone runs into a situation where you need a 3 way multiple pin connection,I wholeheartedly recommend this product. Was kinda unsure how to proceed on my taillight supply, taillight harness,to trailer plug, then I found this….. The only thing was no directions was included,so multimeter was...

The loud crack of the turn signal

I think those aftermarket steering columns are all aluminum, turn shifter and all. They’re a bit pricey and probably click like original. I myself like the click.I know my signal is on without taking my eyes off the road.

Ok,I’m at the very end.I have taillights final connections. There’s an issue,I’m sure easily solved, however,I’m open to suggestions. I need to incorporate my 7 pin and 4 pin trailer connections. However,I want it to be as clean as possible and not butcher it up.The old T connection is not...
