    87 K20 TBI 350........issues :(

If your intake was gummed up, it would probably pay dividends to rebuild the throttle body. There's a kit that is like $40 if I remember correctly, and it's not difficult. It made a noticeable difference on my '87.

    Wheel Adapters

I got BORA's (hubcentric) on mine. Front an back. They will custom make whatever you want. Just call. Worth the extra bucks for the piece of mind. Made in USA. Havent had any issues. I believe I have 2" on the back and 3/4" on the front.

    10 bolt... stupid question

I used the pinion seal in the pic above and it was not the right one. Mine had a metal flange. I have a 10 bolt on an '86 K10. You should be able to tell once you pull the yoke. The one I ended up using is in the link below...

Can someone tell me what this is......

Good morning gents. Can someone tell me what this contraption is that is mounted on top of the drivers side inner fender? It is currently not hooked up, but it looks original. The truck is '76 K20 Camper Special. Any info would be appreciated.

Tired 350 TBI, suggestions to wake it up a bit?

Get a vacuum pressure tester. They are cheap and will tell you if you have a leak. Sounds like you do. I have an '87 TBI 350 and I put headers, throttle body spacer, jet stage 1 chip, and a K&N air filter and it woke the truck right up. Huge difference. Oh, I also rebuilt the TBI, which...

Rear Diff Seal - Cant stop the leak

I inspected the yoke to make sure there was nothing that would cause a breach in seal. Any idea what the preload is? I just marked it with a magic marker and wrenched it down to where it was before I took it off. That could be the cause. I guess the correct way to do that would be to apply...

Rear Diff Seal - Cant stop the leak

Hi gents. Looking for some insight. Not a mechanic, but not scared. I have an '86 K10 with a 4" lift. Ive had the truck for (3) years, and when I bought it, I could tell someone had recently replaced the rear yoke. I noticed it leaking not too long after. I figured it was the seal, so I...

    Damn mice.

When I bought my K10 the HVAC system didn't work. Blower worked but no air. I pulled out an amazing amount nest fixings and mouse crap. Huge pain in the ass. Consider yourself lucky it was in your glove box.

1987 wipers only work on hi

check your grounds and connections. I had that issue for awhile. I now use electrical connection cleaner and dielectric grease often.

    O2 Sensor

Put new headers on my '86 Silverado and they do not have a port for the O2 sensor. I believe this is what has been triggering my check engine light since it started when I made the switch. I trashed the sensor and the connection to the wiring harness has just been dangling ever since. Any way...

    Trying to Identify this bumper.

Not sure on the older models, but I know the '86 OEM bumpers had the gray silicone that was mentioned earlier around the diamond plate. I have not seen a repro that has it.

    Air leaking through vents

Another thing to check is the passenger side vent that only opens on Max A/C. If it don't seal well, you will get an excess amount of air flowing through the cab.

    Door window glass alignment

Very much appreciated. I was briefly looked at this again last night and just couldn't figure out why it was happening. Like you said, it is very basic. I will check out what you are describing and post again with a follow up.

    Door window glass alignment

Thank you both for the replies. Bluex - I completely understand this theory. Problem is when the window is up, it fits perfectly within the weather-stripping, but when lowered the glass can freely slide back and forth in the sash assembly (# 35 above). It slides right out of the front...

    Door window glass alignment

Hello all. Hoping someone can offer me some insight. I tried searching both the site and the internet, but could not find any useful info. Anyway, I bought an '86 Silverado about a year ago and have been working through a ton of stupid little repairs. Last week was a tear down of the...
