    I'll place a magnet and hook up the kickdown. I do have the switch on the gas pedal hooked up so it should work as normal. I appreciate it! On a side note, I tuned my carb and played with timing with a vac gauge cause I was getting steady 8" at 650rpm idle, now it's steady 12" at 700rpm...

    It's doing great, I adjusted the modulator, turned the screw towards trans about 4 full turns and now it shifts at about 3k rpm. I don't think it was a bad modulator, just seemed like 2nd gear was stuck or something since 1st and reverse worked fine. Took a few times wot shifting to neutral...

    It is slipping in & out of reverse.. but other than that now it shifts like butter, like grandma's cadillac Deville. It used to rev higher into 3rd and chirp the tires with pedal to floor, I'm guessing that's the new modulator with the red stripe I think I read somewhere those are built different?

    I just spent the morning manually engaging trans with column shifter unhooked. D is definitely not going into 3rd, or it may be stuck in 1st. At 15 mph there is no shift just increase in rpm but I did replace the modulator so it may be set too low. I turned it 1 turn clockwise to rev higher...

    Yes reverse is good.. I just read someone with this problem, shift linkage was off adjustment. I may be over thinking this because shifter has always been real loose between neutral and D, and in D the indicator actually sits between D and 2. Next chance I get I'm going to go that route...
