    Thanks to all Well that is good news! That it is normal and that I have a open differental. As far as engaging the 4 wheel drive. Can I shift on the fly? If so how fast should can I be going? I know in low it is just for creeping low speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Numbers on back differential Can any body tell me what these numbers mean. They are from my 1987 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4, 350, 5.7 tbi. The numbers are off my rear differential: GM1, H126, 14055251. These are the only numbers found on it! Thanks for the help.

    4 wheel help

    Thanks for a the replys! Tires and pressure all the same, stock not lifted. The truck goes into 4 hi and 4 lo. just fine. When in 4 wheel mode you can feel it engage. How should I trouble shoot this? Starting from easy to extreme! Thanks
