    Still cannot ID engine

That may not be the case on crate engines.... Mine is definitely not original, as it is a 1 piece rear main seal in a 1984 C10.

    Still cannot ID engine

I have pulled the 305 out of my 84 C10, and have the casting # It is: 10048164 OR 10046164 So far, in my web search , I have found a grand total of 1 reference to that #, from a G-body owner who was seeking the same info on his block that I seek on mine. He received no replies. I'm hoping y'all...

    Replacing fenders

AMD seems to be highly rated by Jegs and Summit. I purchased cab corners and outer rocker panel from Carolina classics for lower amounts than you have listed, and they were heavy gauge metal. https://www.carolinaclassictrucks.com/chevy-gmc-repair-panels.html There were some significant shipping...

    Replacing fenders

There are 3 CAPA certified manufacturers of 81-87 fenders, 2 in Taiwan, 1 in China, but I have not been able to find out who distributes them in the States. I will give mine a good once over to see if I can fix the rust and dents before I get too serious about replacing them. As indicated...

    Replacing fenders

I need an inner finder as well. It appears that, when packaged for pick-up, I should be able to get all 3 in the back of my F150 even with a tonneau cover.

    Replacing fenders

Both Summit and Jegs are very high on AMD stuff. ZERO returns (if they can be believed..) Starting to sound like that is the say to go........... I will talk to my body man about them, tho.

    Replacing fenders

I did pick up my brand spanky new radiator support yesterday. From the listing, I believed it to be genuine GM...it was not. It IS, however, CAPA certified, and I purchased it for less than the $$$ of shipping a new one!

    Replacing fenders

Thanks for that. As a coincidence. I had JUST called AMD ! Their warehouse in in Buford, a bit NE of Atlanta. I will have to plan a trip to my Son and his family. They are about 45 miles away, but we always get there early anyway. EZ to drive out, pick up stuff, then fight Atlants traffic (UGH...

Thoughts on Buying a Cheap 2nd Gen Camaro?

I purchased a neglected 79 Z28 T-topped in the late 90's. Factory 350 and T-10 4-speed. 3.73 posi. Body work, paint (Teal metallic) and new interior spruced t up a bunch. Hurst shifter, 16" IROC wheels and Dunlop Z-rated tires. Added rear frame rail connectors. Then, I replaced the rear leafs...

    Replacing fenders

Huntsville is a right fer piece form me, but might bear checking out. I will ask a body shop or 2 about preferred fender sources. Any opinions on Sherman fenders?? They claim to be OEM quality and are affordable. Their 899-31L and R fenders are a bit pricey list price, but available right...

    Replacing fenders

I have seen some used ones which may or not be better than my originals. People seem to think that they have a collector value on their own, and are apparently planning to retire on the price............

    Replacing fenders

It is the outer fender. The Premium fender appeared in a "What's New" type of section, on the inside front cover of a catalog. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cc/t.aspx?Page=2

    Replacing fenders

Good tip. Still want to know which one to buy. Maybe the body shop has a preferred source? LMC has a couple different grades of fenders: their standard and Premier. The latter costs about 2X the former. I will contact LMC about the differences. Carid has fenders from Replace, K-Metal, and...

    Replacing fenders

Unless I luck into a pair of OEM fenders anywhere, who supplies the best aftermarket fenders and inner fenders for my '84 C10? Freight is a killer on these parts. If I could locate in South Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, or Atlanta or Houston areas I could pick up. My right outer and inner...

Not All Oil Priming Tools Are Crated Equal

I have seen these tools with NO lifter galley spool whatsoever. Amazing...... I guess what users can't see doesn't bother them. But, there is NO way oil can be pumped to the rockers if pressure cannot be built up. I requested a return for refund from the ebayer but was refused. I received the...

Not All Oil Priming Tools Are Crated Equal

OOPS...That's Not CREATED Equal The learning continues. I purchased an oil priming tool. Looks nice and nice bearing. But....it does not work............ The top flange which is supposed to keep oil in the lifter galley is too far up, allowing oil to escape from the galley. This prevents oil...
