I haven’t officially done anything yet. Tina already had our daughter & kids on FaceTime as usual. Said our son is stopping by on the way to work. I seen the cop car pull in the drive and his wifey & kids behind him. They come thru the door with a big box. Sort of an early surprise birthday...
What shiftpro said. Bars on the back will help keep things straight , but without the right tires...your just spinning your wheels;). Hooking to me is the tires grabbing the pavement. A pair of ET street radials will do wonders for ya. If you’re LE is cool in your area, slicks are the thing to...
City or highway driving? I have a stroked 350 with an intake swap, TH400, 3500 stall. 4.56 rear + 31” tall tires = 3.82 final ratio. 10 on the highway. In town...I can watch the gauge move. I would think a decent tuneup would bump your numbers up.
In 2002 my 1st one was HP Tuners in OKC. In 2007 it was at SW Tuners, also in OKC. I’ve never owned a trailer, so a buddy offered to take us on the trip.
Both are long gone now. With most of the Street Outlaw guys opening up shops now, guess everyone is going to them. Of course at each one, I...
I’ve had my truck on a chassis dyno twice. Both times were tuning sessions only. Once with the carbed engine of unknown builder that was in it when purchased. The other with the current engine which I built but with an electronic bug catcher. I have heard horror stories myself and was hesitant...
Y’all have some cold summers over there.
I run 2 Holley carbs without chokes. Daily driven, hot or cold. 1 pump in cool weather, starts and idles fine. Cold winter months while sitting outside at work I plug the block heater in. The heat radiates into the blower case. 1 pump and starts fine on...
Went out to the truck today to check my tires as the rears have been losing air at times. Good thing I did as the left rear was sitting on the ground. Got the mechanics truck and aired it back up to 18.5 lbs.
1 1/2 hrs later almost time to go home so gonna pull mine out of the shed and put the...
During my away time I got several things done. One was on the truck. Because of poor planning when I redid the interior, I needed to make my windows electric again. The reason I went back to factory manual was because the motors were giving up on the conversion kits and didn’t feel like messing...
If I remember right, all the holes going into the heads are open, except the front and rear corners, which are blind holes. No sealer on those, just oil, as it will create a hydraulic lock between the bottom of the bolt and the bottom of the closed hole and then you won't get a correct torque...
Maybe an illusion, but is there a hairline crack at the bottom hole?
We lost our shop too. But not before I had mine rebuilt.
If the cover gasket isn’t sealing, a little Permatex thread sealer will fix it.
I use to get annoyed with the “parts people” behind the counter. Most only know what the computer tells them. But anymore I like to have fun with them. If I’m get something engine related, of could the 1st thing asked is make and model. When engine asked the engine size, I say 383. That throws...
Replaced the battery today. Been acting a bit weak lately. Check the receipts to see when I bought it. 10 of 2013. Got the same one so I’m good to go for a while
Throttle response is way more crisp than before is all I can really tell. I did have to lean out the A/F right off the bat on the carbs. Reckon the misty cloud richened it up a tad. In my case, it had to help since the fuel hitting the rotors is in a mist form vs a scattered stream.
