six cylinder won't start in the morning

Does it sound like it cuts out at a certain engine rpm? Maybe wire in a tach to check.

    raising seat height

Could also experiment with wood to find out what height works for you, then square tubing and/or metal body shims.

    Fuse block connectors

What will you be adding? A #10 wire from the battery and an ignition activated relay maybe in your future.

    Transmission Identification

It's not a BOP. I thought someplace on this website or GMT400's there is a guide for GM transmissions based on pan gasket shape.

    Really weird air conditioning problem

When I upgraded my system from R12, I replaced everything under the hood, then flushed out the evaporator. I can get 40* out of the drivers side vent, it is a single cab, your results may differ.

    86 k5 tail pan replacement

I wonder why he didn't cut both sides just outside the frame rails and replace the outer sections. If you are replacing the entire piece, maybe cut it in half, might be easier to get two shorter sections in place than one larger.

    86 k5 tail pan replacement

Relying on memory, which can be sketchy at times, it is spot welded along the bed floor and bolted under the stake pod area. I did this 10 to 15 years ago and may need "memory refreshing" from someone else. Good Enuff Customs has a pretty good utube video, part 17.

    86 k5 tail pan replacement

I replaced one on my old mid 80's CUCV many years ago. I should have removed the fiberglass top first or braced the sides up so as not to sag from the weight. And for some reason that escapes me now I cut access holes in the bed to get at the rear body mounts, maybe the bolts were frozen to the...

396 with Edelbrock 1406 running issue

Check the easy stuff first, plugs, fuel filter & fuel supply (pump) then junk in the carb. If the easy stuff looks ok, think about an ignition module. What type of distributor are you running?

Any Tricks for stuck oil filter ?

I've had to beat the snot out of a filter while cursing the previous installer. Try smacking on the filters' base avoiding the engine block.

86 K20 Shut Off off on Interstate

Is the size (gauge) of the wire printed or branded on it? Is the wire flexible? Peel off the yellow tape and look for green crud, if so replace the wire with the proper gauge.

    Really weird air conditioning problem

Are you sure the compressor had enough oil in it? I usually I drain & measure any oil when shipped, then add if needed the recommended amount.

    Door Hinge Spring Replacement

I do NOT recommend how I replaced my door spring. (1) I compressed the new spring as much as possible in a vice. (2) Used 2 or 3 decent size zip ties to keep it compressed. (3) Set the spring into the hinge and (4) Used a propane torch to melt the zip tie. I used the materials on hand, the door...

    Oil gauge issue

I use a 1/8" short brass nipple and "T" off of the factory location.

    Oil gauge issue

A sender should match the gauge, not the year of the engine.

You can always "T" in a mechanical gauge to get a second opinion.

Valve seals for camel hump heads?

ARF 180cc or 195cc heads are around $2100 for a pair, (from their website) what's a valve job with seats, guides & cc'd for older heads go for? Might not be that much more
