    Custom Hood Ornaments

That's awesome! And a very fitting ornament for a Roadmaster wagon. Very nice touch. I haven't done anything with my eagle yet. I need to talk to the machinist at work next week before I start and work by hand, or with hand powered tools.

    Flaky CL MF ‘ers….

I'll add a line to my ads asking the interested party to include a phone number or where they are coming from. I'll follow up with phone numbers and the scammers don't bother to look up nearby towns to include in their responses, at least not in my experience.

    Cheap one on Marketplace

Nice score! Where'd it come from, and how long was it listed? I'm surprised I didn't see it. I must be slacking lately. See... I told you the good ones pop up every once in awhile. Keep being suspicious though. It's leaves 'em online for a few extra hours so I may be able to find them.

    Custom Hood Ornaments

Found a cool lookin' one on eBay for less than $50. It'd look awesome on my Monte Carlo. Unfortunately I have so many projects on the to do list, I can't justify spending $50 to line up another eventual project. A free project originating from the scrap pile... That's something I can make...

    Custom Hood Ornaments

This is the eagle that I'm currently admiring. As I picked it up this afternoon, I'm thinking it's heavier than die cast zinc or aluminum. It might be solid brass. I'll find out when I work up the courage to cut/mill/drill/file/grind into it.

    Cracked windshield

I did call a couple smaller shops. One guy recommended by a drag racing friend was disappointing to say the least. I left my truck outside yesterday so he could take a look at it, but he never came by. When I talked to him again today, I pressured him for some $$$ estimates, and he wanted...

    Cracked windshield

Thanks for the "Precision" answer, and the other words of wisdom. I'm not in a real rush for this, so I think I'll be able to tackle it in steps and shouldn't need to commit an entire weekend (e.g. remove windshield, clean up pinch weld, maybe slap some paint on it, install new gasket and...

    Cracked windshield

@Grit dog What brand windshield gasket did you use? I see "Precision" makes one and so does "SoftSeal". There may be others too... The windshield gasket in my K20 is junk and it leaks. The glass is okay though. I'm thinking I want to try and replace the gasket myself. Glass guys want $350...

    ‘84 Stepside ready for paint!

Looks great! And I personally like the topper. I'm in the "grandpa club", as one of my friends says, and like toppers on all my trucks.

    Custom Hood Ornaments

I do intend to utilize the OEM hole location. I have a spare hood at home with a hole I can reference and a hood ornament base, but no ornament. I may try to utilize that original hood ornament base with my eagle if I can figure out a good way to do it. I'd probably need the machinist at work...

    Custom Hood Ornaments

Never seen anything like that... Is that something an aftermarket shop is producing? Like the Rubber duck ornaments https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086GR18QM/

F****n' SWEET! It's good to know they can be had on eBay, but I can't copy your style. That's not my style. Thanks for sharing the pictures and the attachment details.

    Custom Hood Ornaments

Anybody running a custom hood ornament on their truck? If I remember right @Catbox might have a Mack ornament on his? Let's see some pictures if you got 'em. The other night I found a pretty sweet looking eagle in my pile of scrap metal. I forgot I had it, and it was too cool to recycle, so...

    Age of our members

Very impressive, young man! I'm just catching up on this, and felt compelled to compliment you. I remember seeing a picture of your vehicle collection and never would have guessed a guy under 30 could accumulate that sort of "wealth". You should be very proud of yourself. I like to think...

Electrical MYSTERY? Blower motor runs when key is off

Mine draw was obvious as well. After a couple hours, the battery voltage would be noticeably lower when checked with a DMM. Overnight it'd be down to 3-ish volts from a full charge the evening before. Not good for my battery, but it only drained down that bad once or twice.

    Dash Rehab for a Radio

Of course every 16 year old NEEDS a stereo! That's part of having a sweet ride. Hopefully his taste in music is as good as his taste in trucks. Be sure to give speaker fitment some good thought before ordering. Good luck with your dash repair. I know you're redoing pretty much EVERYTHING on...

    Dash Rehab for a Radio

Previous owner had a GIGANTIC hole cut in my dash. This weekend I made it workable with a section cut out of a donor truck. That truck was sold to the scrap yard a couple weeks ago, but piece of it lives on. After taking this picture, I added three rivets to better support the...

    Can we be honest people?

Why did GM installed the upper door hinges on our trucks with two bolts from the exterior and one bolt from the interior of the truck? There's gotta be a reason, but I can't think of a good one.

Electrical MYSTERY? Blower motor runs when key is off

So after some more DMM testing, my battery drain wasn't cased by the diode trio pictured in post #20. Instead, it was one of the positive diodes in the rectifier. Since that diode is soldered to a heat sink and didn't come in the parts kit I had, I did a parts swap with another 10SI alternator...

    1980 z28 rescue

I just read the full thread. B*****N CAMARO! Good luck with the FI. Shoulda left it carbureted IMO, but it doesn't really matter. I have a '79 Camaro that I love. Your Z makes me want to clone mine. I have most of the parts, just not the time or ambition at the moment.

All glass, C30 (single) drums, rear leaf packs in Twin Cities MN area.

@tpripps I also have the driver side vent glass (in an old frame), and the passenger side door glass that your looking for. I have not talked to my buddy yet about his windshield, but I plan to this weekend. I'm thinking $120 for all four pieces that you need. Let me know if you want to see...

All glass, C30 (single) drums, rear leaf packs in Twin Cities MN area.

I got a spare slider rear window for you. It's an aftermarket unit. The frame sits out behind the cab a bit, which is a little different than factory. I tried to show this in the second picture. It's complete with a latch inside. I now remember pulling this one from a blue square at the...
