    Dodge Parts??? Behind seat tray

Alot of people also use the "gen" thing in reference just to the Cummins trucks, but it's still the same generation of trucks by happenstance

Well I'll be darned. Next time I see one of these in the yard, I'm gonna have to take a look. I bet that would fit a square as well

    Dodge Parts??? Behind seat tray

Granted I don't know those trucks very well but that looks aftermarket to me. Most of those that I've seen sold aftermarket don't have a logo that you can see from the top side at least

1981 gmc 3500 two tone blue and silver pictures?

Just an FYI, that's not a factory color or paint job, so you'll never find a picture of that exactly. Just play around on google with typing in "year ('81-up, they all essentially are the same so that will broaden your search) blue dually" and just browse. Or play around on Bring A Trailer's...

1981 gmc 3500 two tone blue and silver pictures?

So toss up a picture of the truck you're buying. We're shooting in the dark, there were a few different versions of blue, silver, gray and different combos of each.

You say lighter blue, is it like the light blue on my truck?

which bench seat is best? 75? 80? 81?

My vote would be the velour seat. I HATE vinyl seats with a passion lol. They're cold AF in the winter time and hot AF in the summer time and I sweat in them no matter what

    Planning my next next project...engine?

What gears does the truck have and what size tires? A gear ratio change is the best bang for the buck seat of the pants "HP improvement" you can make.

Same, we knew his dad from the racing days when I was younger so I default to finding his videos if I need an answer on oil or engine stuff

    Would these shocks be good?

You've talked about wanting your truck higher but are now complaining about the ride. Unfortunately you're going to have to spend a pretty penny to get a tall, short wheelbase truck to ride good. As stated, if you're rocking 37s, you either have way more lift than 4" or you don't have fenders...

    motor mount question

Need more info. Define "angle is still out by 3-4 degrees". What transmission crossmember are you using? Also, are the ICT Billet mounts their slider style mounts? If so, those are the lowest mounts you can get. I've helped several buddies build these trucks with 4L60s and 4L80s, some using the...

    Huck's daily - 2005 Z71 crewcab

Snagged this last night off marketplace, 3" in/out Kooks muffler. Dude had it listed for $120 weeks ago when I originally saved it. Saw he'd marked it down to $100, I offered $75 and he accepted. Said it'd barely been used, said he didn't like the sound. It's even clean inside so I believe him...

Can't get rid of play in the steering

It just depends on the usage of the truck. Especially at the rear, the later crossmember with holes in it will be fine for most trucks. But I'm working toward my truck being a Pro-Touring/Auto-X build, so I need the stiffness. I'll also be replacing my rear crossmember with a TinWorks fab unit...

which bench seat is best? 75? 80? 81?

^As Todd said, just pick whichever you like. They're all essentially the same. If the springs are in good shape, the foam thickness/firmness will determine comfort. I would personally want one of the folding seats cuz I keep junk back there. My '85 doesn't latch, never been an issue and is...

Yeah, they're auto dimming as well. It's some kinda fluid in between the panes. I just recently read that supposedly you can take the mirror glass out, pull the layers apart, clean off the goo and just use the lower mirror and it's fine. I'll probably try to dissect that one and see what I find

    Huck's daily - 2005 Z71 crewcab

Not sure if I posted this last week or not but managed to score a good set of DL3 mirrors (power, heat, power fold, LED signal and puddle lamps) at the junkyard last week for $100. The driver's mirror has failed and gone amber but they're not all busted up like most of the other ones I've run...

Can't get rid of play in the steering

Absolutely worth it over the flimsy '81-up 2wd version. My rivets are tight, it was the actual crossmember flexing. So this new one will get bolted in with the larger hardware. I might add in the Ridetech triangulation brackets as well, we'll see.
