    Stewzer55's Oldsmobile Station Wagon

I know the production numbers for these are small (4600), but how many of these were built with the 350? Also, anybody know where to find the police push bumper for the caprice that was vaguely this body style?

no off position on fan control?

hmm. I guess that means that there is supposed to be a lever in that position...

Camaro tach that everyone can love.

How would this work with a dual tank setup? It seems like my factory fuel gauge is stuck at 1/4 tank all the time... And I would like a tach.

no off position on fan control?

How is it that the blower fan switch has no 'off' position? It will run at all three speeds listed on the plate, but there is no 'off'. Why is there no way to shut off the fan?

    Original upholstery available?

Where is this message board located? I need one of these covers.

    Behind the seat area?

I found a little canvas job from the '60s called a 'Pik-Pocket' that mounts under the rear window and to the back of the seat. It opens up when the seat is pulled forward, exposing all kinds of storage areas, including a rifle pocket.

    Original upholstery available?

Looks very much like the white and orangy tan upholstery on my '79. Torn to heck and hidden under at least two tie on seat covers. Are there multiple colors of these available? Are they difficult to install?

    Cup holder

I use a new roll of duct tape. Soda can fits in the center pretty nice. And I have duct tape for Chevy problems.

    aftermarket sway bar mounts

Yep, just 2wd. I can take a photo of the damage. I think it may be responsible for the intermittent vibration I feel at higher speeds.

    aftermarket sway bar mounts

Does anyone know of a ready made full box sway bar bushing mount for the front end? It turns.out the left one is bent to crap on my pickup, and has pulled the sway bar out of its bushing on the control arm. I'm thinking about replacing them both with something heavier.

    I just want it gone....

I guess I don't understand what I'm seeing? The links all lead to places like Amazon. If I'm going to change the box it would be better if I knew for sure what box I was looking for, and how to positively identify it. I'll likely have to find it in a junkyard. I can likely make a heavy plate to...

    I just want it gone....

I really like the road feel of manual everything. The power brakes are vacuum, and fouled up. In my model there is a JB6 and JB7 brake system, and apparently no way to tell them apart. The leading chevy dealership can't even seem to tell me how to determine what I have. I imagine that no...

    I just want it gone....

So, I worked over my power steering pump, because I was having issues. Apparently it has some sort of unlocatable leak because it is still losing fluid. The flare fitting is also some kind of BS that is neither 5/8 and 11/16, and being a 1979 it's too old to be metric. I am sick of power...

    brake booster component interchange

No, the mountings on the bodies are different. Also, the studs are metric on the 94. I just imagine that the rubber parts inside might be the same.

Anybody? I can't be the only person to have wondered this.

odd size saddle tank filler neck hoses

Only one of those products looks close, and it is mounted the opposite way. Also, there are obviously several different sizes, and there are no dimensions listed there.

odd size saddle tank filler neck hoses

I have a '79 3/4 ton pickup with dual saddle tanks. The filler neck includes a section of hose about a foot long with a 90° that attaches to the opening on the tank. Some idiot slit the end to get it to come off the tank so they could siphon fuel. I went out to the local junkyard and grabbed...

    brake booster component interchange

What I have is a '79 3/4 ton 2wd pickup. The previous owner states that the brakes have always been very hard. You pretty well have to stand on them. I am pretty sure it's the vacuum booster. I don't have $116 to replace it. Enter the late model parts truck. My employer just bought a 1994 K1500...

    Saginaw pump question.

Pump is refit. That return line sure is a drag. Off to the brake forum.

    Saginaw pump question.

I'm hoping someone can get very in-depth, since i am effectively hacking the pump. I have found that the fitting for the new style metric hose unscrews and the old style flare fitting fits in. I do have the style on top; I have three pumps, the '94 (metric thread for brackets), the old pump, and...

    Saginaw pump question.

So, I have been stuck with a 1979 GMC. Among its foibles is a screwy power steering pump. It whines, it leaks, when you take a turn it feels like you are driving over sagebrush, and the inside of the reservoir is rusty. obviously the solution to this is to replace it, but what I don't have is...
