    What t case is this

That is a NP241C transfer case (Driver side drop). Notice the wires hooked to it, they are for a VSS. That transfercase is used for 88-98 chevy trucks. It will NOT work in these old square bodies.

    Direct Horn Test

yup that is correct, the single wire comes from the horn switch and is a +12v wire, the horn is a self grounding unit, Meaning the mounting bracket bolts to the core support. Which supplies the ground to complete the circuit Just touch the bracket to a negative post and a fused jumper wire to...

    87 Scottsdale 4X4 5.3 LSX swap

First let me say that is a very nice looking truck, especially like the pic of it sitting next to the new ones. lol I read thru all the comments and the entire post and didn't seem to find the answer. I have done a "few" of these swaps before lol and kind of curious as to what your truck acts...

    Ford Guy new to Chevys

+1 2.25" would be best and yes you will loose the back pressure with 3". You MAY get away with 2.5" but that Kind of depends on the motor you have. I still agree with foamypirate though, 2.25" would be best, and IMO glasspacks suck, Turbo mufflers are my favorite.

    700r4 output seal

Everything above is really good advise. But unless I missed it no one really touched on a couple different things. A properly lubricated seal does not go bad for no reason, worn out bushings and or bearings cause them to fail. Be sure to check for excessive slop in the output shaft, very...

    Need help with 4l80E swap!!!

Ok hold on let me try to help you out here. Your wanting to swap a 4l80e in to an 89 suburban correct? I am not sure what Transmission you have in the burb as of right now, but most likely either a TH350, or a 700R4. It doesn't really make a lot of differences neither of them are...

Dad has cancer-help me fix his AC please

First let me say sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he has a speedy recovery. I am sure he would appreciate it very much so to get it back with working A/C again. I would recommend changing the receiver dryer, orphus tube, flush the evaporator out with A/C flush. You could try flushing the...

    A/C Help

The suggestions that you have already received are very good assumptions and more then likely spot on. But the FIRST thing you should consider doing is hooking up to a set of gauges and check to see what your pressures are reading. Next you need to actually check the airflow thru the...

    A/c compressor wiring

You are partially correct. The switch on the receiver dryer is where the compressor receives its signal. But it is NOT a high pressure switch, instead it is the low pressure switch (aka cycling switch). I wouldn't use the word "jumper" when your dealing with A/C. If the pigtail on the cycling...

    8.1L engine 4L80E trans 4.10 vs 3.73

+1 3.73's are to high for a 4L80E. IMO 4.10's are bare minimum. 4.56's work very well for a small block, but given your running an 8.1L I would stay with a 4.10 ratio....
