    My TH350 Rebuild

TIC - How long did it take you to rebuild it? And if you can remember, how long did it take you to rebuild the 700R?

    My TH350 Rebuild

I plan on it... I'm even getting a little space down in the basement cleaned/set up to work on them. Still rearranging but here's what it started out as...

    My TH350 Rebuild

Well I'm at a crossroad where I have to decide on whether to replace my tranny or have it rebuilt. I've been reading up on it a lot and I'm leaning toward the rebuilt option. Actually, I'm thinking about doing it myself over the winter. The reasoning (in my own head) for attempting it by myself...

What do you guys think of this th350/205 combo

So I'm planning on going to look at a th350/205 combo tonight a guy has for sale. It has ~5000 on a rebuilt tranny and a 205 already hooked up to it. Still trying to wrap my head around the different 205 options and wondering if certain ones are better/more desirable than others. Here is the...

Let's play "What's wrong with it now?!"

So looking around, I found a th350/205 combo (still mated together) with the tranny rebuilt ~5000k ago. They're asking $450 for both of them. Does that seem like a good price?

Where to lift T-case and tranny when swapping

That's the plan. But where's the best balancing spot to place the jack under for the two different parts so they don't fall off and break (...even more)?

Where to lift T-case and tranny when swapping

Like the title says, where's the best balance points to place the jack/lift when removing and/or installing the tcase and transmission seperately? Thanks!

Let's play "What's wrong with it now?!"

Yea I only drove the truck around the house one time before stopping. It didn't move much without the front shaft in.

Let's play "What's wrong with it now?!"

So I'm just gonna start a new thread since my other ones on the topic probably sound like a bunch of random, frantic jibberish - because they were... :sorry: Its a 1979 1/2 ton Scottsdale 400 motor with TH350/203 (no part-time kit currently) that my Dad bought new. It has sat now for ~8 yrs...

    swapping stuff...hopefully

Sorry about that last question, I was talking with my Dad and he had me confused... What I meant to ask was if I could have to different axle ratios in and install a set of manual locking hubs and set them to FREE to get by for a little while (2WD) so I could clean up my correct ratio front axle...

    Grinding noise with part-time 203

What would cause a grinding noise in a np203 TC that had a part time kit in it all of a sudden? It was driven for a few years with the kit in it before it started making the noise. The kit was then taken out and made full time again and the noise stopped.

Can I run two different great ratios in there if I don't run it in hi-loc or lo-loc?
  14. A

    swapping stuff...hopefully

So does it sound to you guys like my tranny's going or does my problem have to do with my TC?
  15. A

    swapping stuff...hopefully

Yes it still is full time. And yes I'm aware that is not good for it after Google told me :). I did drive it around the house in Lo Lock but that was it.

    swapping stuff...hopefully

So correct me if I'm wrong but I have to have a front driveshaft in to be able to drive with my np203 TC? I'm trying to get a truck going that hasn't driven under its own power for close to ten years... Tried to drive it today for the first time after working on it for about 10 months and it...

    Sport rear bumper interchangability

Hey guys, So this weekend is LKQpickapart's 50% off everything sale and was gonna go look for a few things. The main thing is a rear bumper (and brackets). The yard up here has two squares but neither one has the sport, they have the step bumpers. I was just gonna possibly grab one of them...

    All-Wood Flatbed?

So it's getting close to the end of the warmer weather and I'm debating on how to get this truck usable during the winter months... I'm thinking about building an all-wood flat bed just so I can get this thing on the road. It currently has no bed but I was able to finally get it started for...

Is this cab worth trying to save?!

Well a little update and some questions for you guys on this: So I was planning on trying to save this cab because of the sentimental part and also that's what I figured my dad would like to see. But after showing him the rust I'm working with under the rubber floor mat, he was quick to point...

    56" Rear spring hole locations

When drilling the holes, has anyone made them larger (in the hangers as well) to accommodate larger bolts? Is that necessary or should I just use the widest bolts that will fit in the factory size holes in the hanger brackets?

    56" Rear spring hole locations

Anyone? I'm really wanting to put some holes in this frame but don't want to put em n in the wrong spot. :)

    56" Rear spring hole locations

FYI I realize the springs are 4 inches longer but didn't know if that's the difference between the holes or if it was a little more or less than 4". Thanks

    56" Rear spring hole locations

Does anyone know how far back from the original spring hanger bracket holes in the frame the new holes need to be? I was doing some searching and found that some frames already had the holes drilled out from the factory for both springs lengths but I unfortunately just realized after I started...
