    Kevlar Suspension Bushings vs Polyurethane

Already see one top bolt hits the exhaust the other side hits linkage. If I can't wiggle the stock bolts out, I'll cut them and just slide the new ones with nuts facing in.

    Kevlar Suspension Bushings vs Polyurethane

Any of you folks have an opinion on the Kevlar greasable suspension bushings offered by Off Road Design? Looking at replacing all three bushings on all four corners, including the sway bar. ORD kevlar kits plus shipping should be about $232. The polyurethane kits available everywhere is about...

    Leaf Spring

I'm looking to replace the bushings on the leaf springs front and back with urethane. Looking in the Classic catalog, it shows 2 different OD bushings for 87 V10, that are about an inch off my 2 1/2" wide leafs. Any advice on which sets would work?

    Can't believe this gas mileage

Not factory. LMC tach conversion. Adds tach in place of giant gas gauge and places the small gas gauge in the original unused spot.

    Can't believe this gas mileage

I can run it dry, then switch tanks. The beauty of having two tanks. I hear it's not good to do that though. I like to fill up at half tank, it's a military thing.

    Can't believe this gas mileage

When I fill up, the Needle goes to the top of the F. You probably have more gas than the gauge shows.

    Can't believe this gas mileage

Stay with me, I'm not a math major. 16 gallon tank, each quarter is 4 gallons. Half a tank 8 gallons. Just past half give or take the width of the Needle, I'm good with almost 10 gallons.

    Can't believe this gas mileage

Not quite what I thought but still pretty good. The truck has 16 gal tanks just to assure everyone. Drove 172.5 miles, gauge read just under half a tank see pic. Fueled up and pump read 9.928 gallons, so I'm thinking gauge is pretty accurate. 17.375 MPG is what I come up with.

    Can't believe this gas mileage

Just started to keep track of mileage, I thought it was my imagination as the gauge was not moving, after driving 152 miles, now it's at 1/2 tank (left side saddle tank). I'm getting over 19 miles per gallon driving around town. Will prove tomorrow when I get gas to see if I'm really at half a...

    Tailgate Hinges

Mine seem very loose. Was wondering if anyone knows of fleetside hinges that are urethane like on the stepsides (below), or know if they can be used instead of metal ones.

Scotty D, thank you. You are the man, that did the trick. No more leak. I can't believe I waited so long to address this.

    Latest thinking on replacement gauges

I have an extra LMC tach conversion I used for my 1987. Fuel gauge is a little off, but the rest of the kit is complete. You just need to get all the other gauges. I can't offer it for sale though. I don't have enough posts. Oh well too bad.

    Tach conversion kits

Ordered this kit and had no problem with the install. After a few miles the gas gauge stopped reading accurately. I called LMC and told them everything I had done to troubleshoot with no fix. They offered to send me another gauge, it was the day before Christmas. A week later a whole new...

    Stripped intake manifold bolt help

That worked!! Longer bolt tightened down nice. Still cannot confirm that it fixed the leak though. Hopeful!

    Stripped intake manifold bolt help

After searching for the leak, I decided to check to see if all the bolts were tight. Found one near the back of the manifold (number 5) just turned and did not tighten. Whoever did the intake work dicked that up. Can I use a helicoil or other type of thread insert without pulling the manifold off?

    LMC Tach Conversion

I must say the package they sent was fairly complete. Minus the 4x4 red lens, it had just about everything else needed. New Tach to replace the gigantic fuel gauge, and a new smaller gas gauge to fill the void where there was nothing. New printed circuit, black plastic and clear cover. New...

    Speedometer wire question

Can't seem to find the answer, not here or the Chilton manual. What is the wire coming from the back of the speedometer. It is screwed down but does not appear to connect to anything.

Anyone know how to change the radio light bulb?

Thanks guys, Italian here! It is the stock Delco w/cassette player. I'll be digging into it later. Appreciate the help. Here's the edit. My radio does not look like the one posted above. I guess since it has the cassette player, the light is located internally somewhere. Thanks anyway. Now I...
