    Tbi crank no start

do the injectors spray when you crank? will it keep running on fluid if you keep adding it? if so, how does it run, rough or smooth? if you have spark and fuel injector spray during cranking, make sure your plug wires are on correctly and you may need to check the fuel pressure to make sure the...

    Solving gauge mysteries

you have to spin the trip knob, not push it, to reset the trip meter. you can adjust your DRAC module for your tire size to correct the speedo. the DRAC is bolted to the dash metal under the radio. https://harristuning.com/Tbi/vssb-drac-calibration/ I think there is a clip or something to push...

Dakota Digital HDX Install Write Up

for the transmission. I noticed in the photo, you didn't reinstall the stock indicator. I was wondering if you were going to use it or maybe something works with the gauges to show PRNOD21?

    gear ratio/rpm/crawl ratio calculator

yep, lots of calculators out there and this one is the best I've found. just be sure to use actual tire size vs the generic tire size...for example are the "33s" really 33" diameter? likely they are not, and the rolling diameter is likely a little less than the spec diameter. example - my...

Suburban Rear AC not circulating refrigerant

took a half day off work and dove in. the replacement expansion valve wouldn't pass air. as soon as I took it out I tried to blow through it and it was completely stuck shut. the one I just installed today could pass air easily at the same ambient air. I also checked the high side t line and it...

    350 tbi timing

10-14 BTDC is more than I've ever run in a 350tbi, but I'm a newbie. the Knock sensor will detect predetonation before it is audible and pull timing. it only pulls so much, though. so you could add too much, and it will pull it down to a point that wont audibly ping. whether that is too much or...

R4 to Sanden whith stock ac lines(for serpantine)

existing switch is fine, but you may need to adjust the pressure it cuts off to account for the temp/pressure differences to get better cooling.

    Mpg to expect on an '82 C20 3+3, 350?

I have a 1990 4x4 suburban. it has a 350tbi with a mild cam and a tune. the rest of the drivetrain is 700r4 and 3.73 gears sitting on a 3in lift and 33x10.5xr15 BFG AT. cruising at 74-75, I get ~13mpg. maybe with stock tires and cruising at 70 you may be 14-15mpg. stock tires and flat land...

    Speed sensor question — 700R4

I agree. you can probably tap into the existing VSS for the Dakota gauges? not sure if you need to do that before or after the DRAC....

    No crank, no start

I'd take a hard look at the 440 circuit (orange wire) in the main harness across the firewall for rub through on the variois brackets (MAP. cruise control, etc). it feeds power to the ECM and fuel pump relay. it won't explain your no crank, but it will create a no start and will kill the truck...

    Another Distributor Question

I don't think that surface rust matters much. you may clean up and add some protectant to the stem that the rotor slides on just to make it easier to remove next time. others that are more knowledgeable may have better advice.

Options for tuning of Gen1 TBI in 2023

I am using TBICHIPS. It takes time and money to mail chips back and forth. It is probably not a one and done kind of deal in most cases. At the end of the day, I think I am getting where I need to be. But it has taken months and extra cash to mail chips (for both me and him) and data logging and...

Suburban Rear AC not circulating refrigerant

It is a weird system. there is a return spring that tries to close the valve. there is the liquid in the sensing bulb and capillary tube that expands when warm to push against the spring and open the valve. the valve should allow air to pass when temps are warm when the sensing liquid is...

Suburban Rear AC not circulating refrigerant

I've ordered a couple different rear expansion valves. I plan to compare to the original and see if they look right and are working. the valve should be at least partially open (maybe all open) at room temperature. it seems it should close when it gets cold. then I will again make sure the lines...
