Looking for a softer ride
A couple of other ride thoughts. The spring bushings and shackles could be very dry and are no longer flexible, which could cause a stiff ride. Fuel gauge grounding location on frame
Unfortunately, I drive my truck less than 1000 miles per year. I end up just filling one at a time (switching to the other side each fill up). I leave about an 1/8 of a tank in the empty one. Luckily here in TN we have non-ethanal fuel. More expensive, but doesn't break down quickly like...- Craig 85

Truck sitting weird after lift.
When did you tighten the spring bolts? Was it on the ground? If they were tightened in the air, the bushings would be in a bind once back on the ground. FYI my K30 had a 1" rake in the rear from the factory.- Craig 85

Looking for a softer ride
Since you don't have the upper overload like mine I'd start near the bottom. Keep the main over load on the very bottom, but remove 1-2 above that that don't have retainer clips on them. My next to the last broke, so that was the one I removed. I could have removed the next one above that too...- Craig 85

Air intake hosing
I'm originally from California. All of the 81 & ups I ever saw with a 4 barrel carb on a 350 or 454 had the tall air cleaner lid. Could be due to the CA emissions.- Craig 85

87 headlight bezel color ?
I didn't want to paint the center bar the body color. I found a vinyl for the center of the grill, then found a paint to match. In my case it was a Chrysler color.- Craig 85

Rear view mirror, where does it go?
Just make sure it clears the bottom of the sun visors and your good. -
Total body swap
Contact your Highway Patrol or DMV to see how it gets registered once you're done. Take a bunch of photos of the process, VINs and any paperwork. When I lived in California, vehicles were titled by the VIN on the frame. Others here have said their state is by the body. Just confirm you know...- Craig 85

Painting dash pad
I used Duplicolor on my last truck. Never had any issues. I will be using SEM for this one as no one else carries the color I need. -

CUCV Torque Slip (TH400)
Not to get too far off your topic, but you can probably get by with a 4" lift with 35's as long as they are not too wide. I have a 3" lift on my K30 with 33's (305/70R16) with 16x10 wheels (4.5" BS). My K30 with a 3" lift is an inch taller than my old '79 K15 with a 4" lift due to the taller 1...- Craig 85

Procomp 69 center caps
To add to the previous post, the center bore of the Pro Comp wheel is 5.15." That is the same as my American Racing Baja's. Any Metal cap that size should work.- Craig 85

Installing tailgate band
I'm not sure the 70's full size trim will fit the 81 and up gate. I know the 1/2 size one does not due to the shape of the 81+ gate. The slope by the GMC on you gate prevents it. 73-80 81-87- Craig 85
