You may have seen one in a Blazer, but that's not where it started life. Those fuel/tach combos were optional in the medium duty (C50 and up) trucks and were used with various engines and rpm ranges.
I wonder if that radio was maybe added by the dealer? In a Google search, that style radio plug wasn't used with GM radios after 1972.
But anyway, a '71-'72 car would probably be a good source for the needed connector. There's some on ebay right now...
Were those studded bolts and windage tray only used on the Vortec engines? I've got one with that setup, but haven't seen it on older small blocks.
And yeah, I'm not very old and I haven't been able to trust a fart in nearly 10 years, lol.
I believe that it can be, but maybe not in stereo. I'm guessing there are terminals on the radio to run a second speaker, but the terminal diagram should tell the tale.
Thanks! That is the same user name they used on another forum to try and scam someone. I banned them, as well as another member that shared the same IP address. These a$$holes need to go away.
Ok so upon further review, that may not have been a scammer here, but somewhere else. I know I've seen that email address.
You don't remember the member name at all? You can PM me if you have an idea but aren't sure.
Also, one of the "outer" knobs should be tone control. That's the sound change you were talking about. If the other "outer" knob moves and you can make the sound go away completely, then the radio can be used with more than one speaker.
Move that vacuum hose or cable out of the way and try to get a better picture. The wiring terminals and functions are stamped right on the case of the radio. GM was good about that.
Yes, it is a good show and there's even a squarebody specific part of the show too!

It's extremely common to have forum members with no posts. Some visit often, some never do. Lots of folks are just here to search and learn, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Don't worry about it, there are no plans to remove anyone. Unless they really deserve it of course.
I thank you for your input as well, you are definitely not alone. I had edited the first post in that thread, with the intent to further avoid situations like this. Looks like I need to do a...
Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are pretty darn far away from each other. So you just narrowed it down to either close to @89Suburban, or nowhere near him lol.
When I did my accumulator cover seal, I didn't know the trick about putting the seal in the case first. I used lots of dielectric grease on it. It doesn't leak... yet. It's been almost a year.
