For those of you wanting to brighten up your florescent orange needles, go to a hobby store and buy Testers model paint. I used it and it turned out great. Took about 4 coats for good coverage, but looks like new. Just an FYI!!!- My78truck

Air vent valve replacement
Ok, has anyone replaced their air vent valve on a like/near 1978 Silverado C10 with air with this replacement part? How do I attach the actuator and spring. Pictures attached. If so, could you please send instruction/pictures. Or, maybe I just need to rebuild my original with new vent seal. -

Okay, thanks. I decided that trying to remove the speedo, and all other gauge needles, was less an ordeal than dealing with the odometer. And as luck would have it, I was able to transfer all my new, brightly, painted needles to the new gauges without issue. Wasn't hard at all, just have to...- My78truck

Gauge Cluster Teardown and Rebuild - Beware, Pic Heavy!
I am doing the same thing. I want to try and keep mine as stock as possible. I have switched up the incadescent to LEDs. I have the cluster out and have refurbed the instrumentation. Question. Can I/should I put a couple drops of 3-n-1 oil on spedo wheels? # 2, can I spary electronic cleaner down into speedo cable connect to clean it out? And what about a drop of oil?
