I went to put the steering wheel back on, after trying to clock it, and I noticed that the steering wheel was on upside down, but because the wheels were turned slightly out. Steering Wheel Cleaning
What I have done so far is spray it down with Dawn Power wash, let it soak, spray some more and then use a red scrubbing pad to scrub it down. Did that twice. I not is not sticky, but has a whiteish film. I am contemplating trying interior trim detailer. Or I might do what the paint guy... -

Thank you. I did restore, but only for my satisfaction and pride. I will fill her up, take an odometer and run her dry, take an odometer and then fill up again and repeat. Of course, the sending unit I bought, although from Summit, is just Chinese junk. Old one was shot, and better quality...- My78truck

Yeah, I would definitely prefer a nice OE one, but all the ones I find are in as bad a condition as mine and cracking, cracked or broken. I didn't know if I would like the "replacement", but it looks good and gives back that dressed up hood look. -

Had a friend come down and he was able to get it set. Just needed a few turns of a screw here and there. Sounds like it should both at high idle and in gear. Gotta love someone who can tune by ear. Thanks. BTW, stock engine and about 500 feet above sea level. Thanks for the help.- My78truck

Rochester 4-bbl quadrajet idle on 1978 Chevy 1/2 ton
Can someone please help me. My idle is messed up/set too low. When I start my truck, it wants to stall out 3-4 times before the idle sticks. Will idle at a low rpm before ramping up to high rpm until warmed up. Can someone please provide the specs for a Rochester 4-bbl quadrajet. Thank you- My78truck
