    We had 30-9.50R15 Michelin TRX tires on the stock alloys on our first '99 C1500 Burb, on it when we got it. IIRC those are 7" wide wheels, and they fit fine. Apparently in the mid 2000s that was a common tire upgrade for those OBS Burbs because I saw a lot of them then.

    Check the accumulator can on the booster...they get loose sometimes, and then the unit has NO reserve power. But it sounds more like a bad MC to me too. Also check all your lines for cracks, leakage, damage....

    This isn't on a square body truck, but the next generation GMT 400.... On my '97 C3500 Crew Cab, I had the Hydroboost unit replaced in 2022 and it cost around $1000 at a good shop(a not good shop charged me $600 and they didn't install it correctly or bleed it right so it only lasted two weeks)...

    Yup, medium duty had some different trim, just like the square ones. But the OBS/400s they had the 3500HD at 15K gvwr, and the Topkick for the mediums.

    Nice truck! I have fond memories of these interiors; Dad's 75 Sierra Classic had this but in green. No factory tach dash but he built a bracket to mount a Sun tach on the A pillar(wayyyy before Pillar Pods were a thing). And he had an AM/FM stereo with an 8 track deck, great for cranking Foghat...

    You can use a small pocket knife or pen knife under the edge of the hose too, if you can get that tool in the space. Picks or hooks or small straight blade screwdrivers (I have a couple I also use for popping wiring harness plugs loose) also work well.

I suspect that it was special ordered because of some of the equipment it has....but it wouldn't surprise me if by 1997 the government wanted a proper bumper on the rear of a light truck unless it was...

    I want to say that GM discontinued the 2 door full size SUV with the end of the GMT 400s, because by this point Phord and Dodge had already ceased production of theirs, and the sales for those models decreased every model year. They should have brought a fullsized truck based SUV back to compete...

    We ran LR60/15 on the 78 Sierra shop truck, on 15x8 factory wagon wheels...back in the early 80s. I think that translates to a 255/70 now? Most tire stores would/should be able to help with this....

    Almost like the gold ish metallic color my Crew Cab is.... Rawhide Metallic. Chevy called it that in one of the VIN number reports I had done, the other one called it Light Autumnwood Metallic. A couple years later, Light Autumnwood Metallic was the GMC name for what Chevy called Pewter...

    Yup it was .....much better than on the road though. And since it's a CCLB, that's a 34 gallon tank, over five feet long... whole truck is almost 22'.

    Many of the lower trim level square body trucks came with no rear bumper from the factory. This option continued well into the GMT 400 era; my '97 Crew Cab has this option on its RPO code sheet. It got a close to factory looking one, dealer or upfitter installed before purchase though. Our '78...
