    Tire machine recommendations

Can’t hardly get a regular tire shop to touch beadlock wheels in California, and the ones that do charge shop rate for the work. To add, most shops that do work on them just run the ring bolts down with a 1/4” impact giving no attention to evenly pinching the tire. That way is totally fine for...

    Tire machine recommendations

The back bead on KMC brand beadlock wheels are an absolute bear... Even with the weight of the hoe i had to rotate each tire to about 3 or 4 different spots and try to get some penetrating oil down in the bead. Then, when it seemed like it was close I was jumping on the bead next to the bucket...

What new tools have you got lately?

Craftsman isn't what it used to be, they are okay tools to get you by but quality control has suffered. I bought my daughter a big set of Milwaukee wrenches for Christmas, they look and feel like quality but no real experience with them. They came in a "packout" box with removable organizers...

What new tools have you got lately?

Super common fix for Toyota 22R & RE... I've never done the fix myself but from talking with my dad apparently once the fix is complete on the first start up some high revs are recommended to ensure any soft aluminum bits are swept out of the cylinder. This reduces the chance for shavings to...

Agree… The cheapest one I found was about $300 and had no glass or needle. Found a few others in the $600 range.

Holy crap…. I just googled that gauge, there was another going for $1400+ but this one is closer to the one dad had. ETA: The more expensive one has a more similar bezel

    Squ-Air Compressor

Got the air compressor back on the pad and fired up today Then headed to the dump but the suckers were closed due to short staffing, decided to restore a pressure gauge for inside the shop… Didn’t think to take a picture until the face of the brass trim ring was finished so here’s a...

    Broken cross pin bolt

Many carriers have a large bearing on one side and a small on the other, the “hub” is the surface the inner bearing race rides on

    Broken cross pin bolt

Huh, I think you’re probably fighting a combination of things: The pin hole isn’t round due to beating on the carrier The ends of the pin are beat up and mushrooming And the burr you point out against the spider gear could be hanging up too I don’t know if those pin bores can be repaired...

    Broken cross pin bolt

Are all those marks on the carrier from a hammer? If so I believe you may have swaged the hole closed slightly, going around the pin hole with a sharp punch is one of the ways to make a sloppy pin fit a little tighter. Does the pin move at all?
