Factory Underside paint?
Do you recall what years the red/orange sealer was used? Or what plants? I don't recall the base color on most of mine without looking at them, but I know my '77 K5 has the red/orange sealer and my '88 Suburban has gray sealer. I think my old '90 Suburban was gray sealer too.- bucket

Any GM 2.2 engine experts in readerland?
Hmm... I used to know the answer to this. But I can't remember. I'm almost positive it was more involved than just an intake and exhaust manifold swap though. I could take some guesses as to the major differences, but memory isn't really good enough for that either. Fairly positive the timing...- bucket

Pretty sure it varied from year to year and plant to plant. There were different sealers/primers and most likely different amounts of body color overspray.- bucket

Tightening down front yoke nut stops NP205 from turning
As long as it still seals on the yoke, it will be fine. So maybe I misunderstood before. When it it was tightened and everything locked up, was that just in 4wd, or when shifted into 2hi as well?- bucket

I live in the rust belt. Saving u-bolts is often not possible. Like, 99.9% of the time. But if they are super recent and come apart nicely, I've got no problem reusing them.- bucket

How much paint do I need?
Imho, hosing down a truck with bedliner (whether it be a professional job or spray cans) devalues a truck by 100%. -

As far as how many cans it actually takes, it can vary widely. It all depends on what you are spraying over, your color selection and the brand of paint too. One brand or color might take twice as much (literally) paint than it would with another. For painting an entire vehicle, a cheap spray... -

Color selection of the Turbo cans is very limited. Also, as far as paint runs go, you can get it done if perfect technique is executed. Sort of like playing with fire- if not careful, it'll burn you real quick. -

I am certainly no expert on it at all, but since it is locking everything up, would that indicate that tightening the yoke is somehow causing the idler gearset to bind?- bucket

It's funny, I can NEVER seem to remember the proper position to remove and install the lid/forks. I have to figure it out again every damn time, lol.- bucket

The 4 bolt main LIE !!! Or is it???
Also, a couple other things. The 50cc pump will not clear some manifolds without some form of carb spacer. Pump cam and nozzle tuning often needs to be done, even with the 30cc pump.- bucket

Howdy frim Ohio! Unfortunately, AI has lied to you. There's no possibility of knowing if it's a one of one truck. GM did not keep those records of option combinations. More research will be needed for other things, like the roll bar and light switch. I'm nearly certain those were not part of...- bucket

I'm sure the backside of the trim could be filled and leveled with some type of epoxy... but gol dang that would be tedious, time consuming and expensive. Honestly though, here's how I look at it. If you actually care about the paint, it needs to be washed often and properly. That includes... -

Thinking about streamlining my tools.
The only experience I have with Metabo (previously Hitachi) is their corded grinders. And they kick ass. As for comfort, noise and durability, they blow all the other corded grinders out of the water. Including Milwaukee, which is one of the worst IMHO.
