    LS rear main seal leaking

Have you diagnosed that it IS the rear main seal, for sure? Many places on the Gen 3 & 4 block leak oil that will run down the back of the engine and around the bell housing to make you think it’s the rear main. See if you can look at the back of the block, flex plate/flywheel and torque...

    Transfer case shifter rods

Here is the difference in the length between the transfer case “control rod” used with the 4L80E and all other transmissions on the 81 up NP208 and NP241 cases. Top is the 1991 only 4L80E rod. Bottom one came from an 89 700/241 case, but is exactly the same as the one on my 465/208 case...

    Fender antenna debacle

Factory 89 Blazer fender showing antenna and with bezel removed. Truck was all original, except for the repaint to dark blue when it was wrecked on the driver’s side. Bezel removed showing mounting screws Fender is NOT reinforced for mount, but didn’t verify the fender on my 88 CC...

    Fender antenna debacle

In 88 the antenna was moved to the top of the passenger fender. The reason the fender the OP has, is drilled where they did is, there is a factory hole in the inside of the fender there for easy cable routing. I have an 88 factory fender and can get pictures of the original 88-91 antenna...

What new tools have you got lately?

Was given this because one end was messed up. As can be seen, this end was only tacked together, not fully welded. Will reinforce and use it to move engines/transmissions around the shop. The end uprights just pull out.

What new tools have you got lately?

Not tools, but picked up 4 of these shelves today for cheap. 4’ wide, 2’ deep and 6’ high. A local store overbought. That had one in the store with roughly 100 12pks on it and it was sturdy. Using 2 in the new pantry (was 3” too long of turning a 3rd sideways against the back wall, because of...

    '87 Crewcab 5.9 Cummins/trans ID

From what little I can see of the pan, it is possibly a T400 that looks to have a Gear Vendors overdrive unit attached to it. Is the engine sitting straight up in the bay, or slightly canted? Hard to tell much from the pictures, except for the OD unit

    Front caliper upgrade?

Has anyone used these pads? And if so, how do you like them? I won them in an online automotive photo deal, and are supposed to be for my 84 K10. I’d forgotten about the “contest” as it was over a year ago, when asked for my mailing address. Recently received these in the mail.

    Subwoofers

Mr Jamie Wilhite (owned J’s Sound Center, Monroe, LA) taught me how to figure interior resonate frequency, box design, etc etc when I was in Monroe in the early stereo scene. Built plenty of boxes, and lots of installs for him. Could have made a career out of it, but decided to go back...

    Subwoofers

Savard is a name I haven’t thought of much since the early 90s. Preferred the Professional Series to the Rap Series. Mr Bill (Savard) still does some audio, as I see him occasionally when I am in Baton Rouge.

What new tools have you got lately?

We just called them saw cans, but we used to use them in logging, mixed saw gas on the big side, and bar oil on the small side. Hadn’t seen one in years, as tree cutters and de-limbers are used, so very few saws are used anymore in the woods here in SW Mississippi

    Super T10 vs M20/M21

If I remember right, the Borg Warner cases are different than the Muncie cases in the tail housings. M20,M21, & M22 are just option codes for the ratio of transmissions. My 79 TA factory 400/4 speed had M21 transmission on the build sheet, but had a T10. Bought it from the original owner in...

What Trans for a cummins swap c10?

I’ve got an ‘03 (i think that is the right year) Dodge one on my 84 K10. Also I believe Ford used the same electric pump from about 99 - up on the diesel Super Duty trucks. May be worth looking into, as they are easy to find and inexpensive.

What Trans for a cummins swap c10?

Also remember the bell housing adapter that bolts to the block must match the transmission. On 1st gens, the auto and manual ones are different, and of the manual trans one, the G360, NV4500, and G56 ones are different from each other, and require different flywheels / clutches and starters...

What Trans for a cummins swap c10?

To go with what has been said about the vacuum pumps, the only ones I would NOT use is the 1st gen non ic diaphragm pumps, unless I had to. Parts are getting harder to find for them, and they are not as reliable. The 1st gen ic and 2nd gen 12v pumps are the better ones to use.

What Trans for a cummins swap c10?

To put a Cummins in a C10, I’d change the front springs 82-87 C30 1 ton diesel springs. For mounts, I’d build them using 3rd gen truck mounts. They make adapters for the gm frame mounts, but they wont last. It will all go under the hood with some work. Looking to see if I have pictures of...

Can anyone ID this suspension setup?

Staggered shocks became standard on the 1968 F body (Camaro/Firebird) In late 66 early 67 the high power cars got radius rod(s) to help control wheel hop. The Camaros got a right side bar, either round or square depending on power ratings. Firebirds got one or two bars (second one on the left...
