    Hey DoppleG, in the last pic, bottom right corner is that a plug? looks like about 1-1/4" round with an X in it. I've been thinking about installing a plug just to do a periodic inspection for rust. This truck will see some winter salt and slush.

    I had to do the same, I think when they stamp them they just have extra material, Pretty much like every patch panel I've installed.

    Did all square bodies come with the underside of the hood black? I'm trying to decide if I want to go with body color or keep it black. I'll have the insulated panel so it would only be the perimeter that would be white (body color), but not sure how that would look. any opinions?

    The reason I ask is that I found part #'s on the bed sides and I think the fenders so I figured if there was a stamping on the hood somebody would know. I'm going with the one that was on the truck, that appears to be original, but it's always nice to know for sure.

    Look into Motobase, or Wanda, both are reasonably priced products. Southern polyurethane is awesome stuff but limited to a few solid colors.

    Was it possible to get a long bed with a 16 gal. tank? I'd extend the filler hose and replace the vent hose.

    I used the purple gun for most of the epoxy on my truck, It works well for that. I've since moved up to their green gun for $24 . No sense in using your $500 finish gun with something you're going to block down anyways.

    Welding would be best, but you'll need to repaint the doors, or at least blend the patches in. For a temporary fix get some machine screws with a low profile head like a truss head and paint them body color and cover the holes. Maybe add a dab of caulk to seal it.

    The Bully brand step like SirRobyn0 posted are 8.25". I just measured one that I have stored away. The upper holes that screw to the inner rocker are 8.25, the lower holes that go thru the lower lip need to be drilled, so there is some leeway on the spacing.

    I'm thinking about it myself, but it probably wouldn't be the cheapest. Lowes here has P.T. appearance grade southern yellow pine 1x8 that's actually pretty nice.
