What have you done to your square lately??

Replaced the blower motor and wheel. The last one lasted 10 years. I had replaced it when I replaced the heater core. The blower was the only part I didn't replace last year when I redid the AC system. Has anyone seen a replacement for the vent tube?

    Help

Did you seat the torque convertor all the way onto the transmission input shaft? Do you feel the transmission change when you select the different gears? More important what type of transmission is it? 700R, TH350,400?

    Alternator Brackets Update

I got the new bracket in the other day. Here are the left-over pieces. I had to slight modify their design. The design is a good one it clocks the alt. over and down lower toward the pass. side. My problem was the fuel pump lines, and the alt didn't play well. The alt wound up sitting on the...

    Cheap Horsepower

Richard Holdener has some dyno test video's of doing just that using the Eaton blower from the V6's. I can't remember how they worked. I think they became a restriction on the larger engines. The guy has a great job playing with engines all day.

    LS bellhousing stiffener rods

No I haven't run into any issues driving the truck. I daily drive it to work over some horrible roads here on the SE side of Houston.

    LS bellhousing stiffener rods

I don't run the bars going from the motor mounts to the bell housing. I deleted mine because when we pulled the old motor the kids had one job mark the mounts pass and driver, up and down. They failed. When we stabbed the motor the bars where wrong. I cut them off! I swapped the 700R for a 350...

    Cheap Horsepower

You laugh. Some of the stock and super stock classes run the cars down a couple of quarts of oil. They do it to stoppage windage losses. Check out the engine masters where they test this fact. Cheap and , or free horsepower is a myth!

Awesome. I checked out the web site. It looks like the bracket I will use. Thanks for the response.

What have you done to your square lately??

Thanks. I did add some foam that came with the packaging to keep the EVAP from moving around as much in the housing. I sealed the housing to the fire wall with Flex seal rubber caulking, as well as the 2 halves. I put foam pipe wrap in the top hole around the tubing.

What have you done to your square lately??

Replaced the EVAP again! The last one only lasted about 18 months or so. They don't fit just correctly, and the high-pressure tube has to be tweaked a bit. I also noticed that the water heater hose was rubbing on the tubing. It might have vibrated it enough to cause it to fail. I located the...

What have you done to your square lately??

I fixed my squealing belt this past weekend. While I was at it, I changed all 3. The Gates belts cost over 100-dollar bill. I would like to come up with another Alt. bracket. This is not the best set up. Any ideas? The bracket doesn't play nice with the Vortech heads and , intake.

    Intake gasket help needed!

I've used the 1206 gaskets in the past with no issues. Did you have the heads milled, and or the block decked? It sounds like you have a fitment issue with your intake to the heads and block.

Smog removed: how to cap manifolds?

If it's regular pipe threads, use a pipe coupling and plug. Or you can remove the tubing from the manifolds and use pipe plugs on the holes in the manifolds.

    Drag limited

The timing was off by a bunch. When I replaced the front cover for the roller cam, I attached a timing tab that sits to the driver’s side of the H2O pump. The stock one was I’m guessing the sight tube behind the H2O pump. I marked the balancer to the new timing tab position. By setting the...

What have you done to your square lately??

Thats what I have on my truck. I have mine screwed into the metal. The tach housing rotates to the right when in gear. It was blocking the speedo when it was fixed stationary in the middle. The tach is over 5 years old.

    Drag limited

What are your thoughts on my truck being drag limited at a little above 3K rpm's in third gear at 85+ MPH. turbo 350 and 3:08's with 32" tires. Mild 350 build. It pulls hard right to 3k and then just stops. I think it might be. Not really worried about going any faster just curious.

What have you done to your square lately??

I changed the oil. I decided to stop using the Shell Rotella 10-40. I saw some videos about the wear additive, and detergent packages comparing gas and diesel oils and why you shouldn't run diesel oil in a gas engine. I used to run it because of the stock flat tappet cam. I went with the Super...

    Would these shocks be good?

I changed my shocks from Rough Country nitrogen filled to a hydraulic type. They were softer, but didn't make much of a difference. My springs are also wrong for my truck. The springs don't flex at all. So the shocks don't make much difference.

    Engine woes

Every engine is the same it needs fuel , air , and a spark to run. Start with one of these and then break it down into smaller parts.

What have you done to your square lately??

Replaced the collector gaskets on the headers. Chasing an exhaust leak. I think it's a weld on one of the tubes. I have replaced all the gaskets. Check out the price for the new gaskets. Great deal.

What have you done to your square lately??

Installed the carpet door trim that I've had from the original carpet. I like the original color better than the red. I would use the factory one, but I only have the one. The other side got wet and fell apart. The red ones are from LMC and are 8 years old. They are holding up well.
