Yup it was .....much better than on the road though. And since it's a CCLB, that's a 34 gallon tank, over five feet long... whole truck is almost 22'.- HotWheelsBurban

Can anyone tell me about this step bumper? (Aftermarket?)
Many of the lower trim level square body trucks came with no rear bumper from the factory. This option continued well into the GMT 400 era; my '97 Crew Cab has this option on its RPO code sheet. It got a close to factory looking one, dealer or upfitter installed before purchase though. Our '78...- HotWheelsBurban

Hopefully this will be all the major repairs for a while, other than the front end work it needs. This truck about tapped my wallet out, between parts, tools and missing 4 days of work. Then all three of us got "the crud" that's going around, keeps you in bed or close to the bathroom.... two...- HotWheelsBurban

What I have that I can use..... hopefully the building will get semi organized this winter. Then I have to be able to get the big truck IN a bay.... At least this is firm pavement. In front of the building is gravel and dirt where all fasteners dropped instantly turn into rocks....- HotWheelsBurban

Hey if we're gonna post "working on the DD" pics..... This is my truck a couple weeks ago when I and friends were dropping the tank and R&Ring the fuel pump. Yes the right rear tire is only touching halfway across the tread, I had the e brake set. Had to be that high to get the damn tank out...- HotWheelsBurban

That's kinda what the skids they ship(or at least did, back in the day, the Target Master/Goodwrench engines. That truck needs a little more mojo....my '97 Vortec CCLB one ton has the same rear gear, overdrive (4L80E) and 255 horsepower out of its 350(fuel injection and better flowing heads). I can haul 10K counting the truck, three people, a full bed of car parts and tables, and a 5x8 U Haul trailer...- HotWheelsBurban

I Spy A Cool GM Truck
This is our my bedroom window (which has a screen on it) but this is my DD Crew Cab and Paul the neighbor's 84 Caprice. Got Weld wheels, big tires and a modded 305, he has a 350/th350 combo to go in it soon.- HotWheelsBurban

What new tools have you got lately?
Yeah it probably weighs 150#. I have an aluminum floor jack that I take when I have a trailer, cause I can pick it up and put it in the truck bed....my big floor jack is at least 80# so I don't pick it up if I don't have to.- HotWheelsBurban

Auxiliary fan replacement
Not sure on squares, but in the OBS it was dependent on a 2500/3500 having a big block and towing package. Every now and then I see one come into the yards....but I believe that fan and bracketry is actually available new from Rock Auto. I know it used to be because I was looking into getting it....- HotWheelsBurban

Yes, MC, Malibu, possibly Camaro, but I know the A and G body Chevys had it as an option. One of the mods on gmt400.com has a '97 ex cab short bed with Tahoe buckets, a NBS console between the seats, and a homebuilt front console with one of those shifters in it.- HotWheelsBurban

C10 Fall Revival 2025, Denton, NC
I looove all those trucks....but then I do have a soft spot for a Crew Cab, and a willoway green and white truck too. Dad's was a 75 GMC Sierra Classic, rclb, but I've always liked the color combo. If that was a C30 instead of a K30, it would need to be in my fleet.- HotWheelsBurban

Fuel tank/pump replacement
What brand of pump are you using? I have a Precision brand unit in my OBS Burb, probably going to have to put one in my DD Crew Cab and that's what the parts store has, for $165 IIRC....I get a commercial discount from a friend's account at certain O'Reilly's. I have another story about the Dorman cabinets....when we moved our store from Houston to Missouri City, we hauled these in our shop trucks...a load of these with drawers full of bolts and stuff will set a Heavy Half down a little bit! Yes those cabinets are built VERY sturdy! We had a run of them, two tall(8 drawers, each set has 4 drawers in a cube frame, very modular) across the counter in our last location of the parts store. IIRC it was about a 24' run....also Dorman offered a countertop that was white Formica...- HotWheelsBurban
