Where the oil temp probe is at is in the oil gallery feeding the main bearings ..
Constant moving flow of oil ...
The gauge should read pretty close to the actual temp ..

Working on nailing down a 25 row cooler ..
It may be more than what's needed, but for the dollar I'm giving for it ..

Oh.. so im confused, you want to move it or you want to have a second gauge or difference between the hot oil and returned oil?

I'll leave it where it's at ...
Do think for the most actual oil temp would be having the gauge installed near the bottom of the oil pan ...



Not wanting to drill a hole in the aluminum pan, did think about drilling a hole in the drain plug, having the wire running down the side of the pan vetoed that idea ..

But with the oil cooler on line don't think I'll be having a heat issue ..

Also think having a oil temp gauge is a bit overkill too ...
That idea is just to have a visual on what's going on .. Be nice to know the conditions of vital points of the motor under high stress loads ..

I pull two trailers with this old truck ..
30' fifth wheel RV and a 16' box trailer hooked to the RV ..

Kind of looks like Jeb Clampett traded up ... Eek

For a few bucks more can get this 30 row cooler ..



5 more rows than the other cooler ..
