Well I’ve got some buddies that have overlanding builds in progress, so I may go that route. Nothing too crazy, it’s already got a 4” lift and 33s. I like the look of it so I don’t want to mess that up. Maybe some different bumpers, it’s got tow behind stuff on it now that I’ll never use so that will probably go. I’m open to ideas

Ours has a 3” lift and 35’s, it looks good and she doesn’t wheel it anymore so it’s fine for driving around. I liked the tire to body gap better with 3” and 33’s but she likes the bigger tires. It rides great and there’s no weird steering or vibrations however the 35’s sucked a lot of power out of it.
It’s got Smittybilt STC tube bumpers, which look great. I have my doubts about their strength but I’d rather have the bumper collapse than bend the frame.
By far, the best mod I’ve done is a Morryde tailgate reinforcement / tire carrier. It’s an expensive upgrade but having to open a tire carrier first then the tailgate was annoying and they say hanging a 33”+ tire on a stock tailgate will eventually crack the gate itself.

My spare is currently in my buddy’s shop somewhere due to that very concern. I’ll have to check it out, was looking at these from Quadratec but I figured the gate opening thing would end up being annoying at some point

@chevytech87 those are the exact same bumpers we have. The tire carrier was a pita! The “hinge” doesn’t use any bearings, it is a solid round stock post on the bumper and the carrier has a piece of split tubing that clamps snug on the post (you can see the pinch bolts in your pic). Periodic greasing makes the swing movement livable. It also rattled BAD, I shimmed up the bumpers to tighten it but then it gets hard to latch / unlatch. I took the carrier off when I bought the Morryde kit.
