6.2l K5 Hunter Package

Hello all, just bought a k5 blazer parts truck. The dash cap is missing it has a sticker on the dash saying it is has a hunter package? Wondering if there are any other examples out there? Truck is rough but decently optioned.

Maybe someone slapped this on the bare dash at some point? I'm just curious before I strip this truck for my m1009.

The sticker on the dash is obviously from the side of an Igloo cooler. :fishing1:

That does seem like a very well optioned truck. I like the all white with Carmine interior. I bet that thing was sharp when new.

It absolutely is! I'll see about getting the 6.2 started tomorrow. Motor will probably go in my 72 K10 if I can find a decent nv4500 or an np833..

You realize that the 6.2L is a gutless P.O.S., right? I was farming when they came out and a lot of farmers immediately bought 'em because they all knew how powerful diesel engines were. All were sure they'd be able to pull 3 or 4 cotton trailers at a time with one.
Couldn't untrack a single full trailer. Most were resold within a couple of months. GM's stab at a passenger diesel was built on a gas platform and she
Too bad turbo tech wasn't up to snuff at the time, our engines may have taken a completely different turn after that.

It’s insane how military use literally single handedly carried that... and really funny how the military accepted that... but humvees are radically misused anyway so why not?

I think they were after a fuel effecient 4x4 that ran on diesel like all the rest of their stuff. You have to think when they go somewhere they have to bring all their own fuel with themselves. Fuel effecient and same fuel type is really important.

Seriously.

Sure the interior is ****** but those can be replaced easy enough. Looks like besides that all it needs is a good pressure washing and a set of tires, I'd drive it! I'd be looking for a parts truck to fix that one with. Any square with a halfway decent interior and a real engine basically

the 6.2 diesel was not built on a gas engine platform.
The 6.2 was designed for GM in the detroit diesel plant and was a diesel engine from its very beginnings.
If You want a unit that will get 20 MPG then fix this unit and run it.
Nice find, I sure would not scrap it out.
