I am trying to revive my father's 1986 GMC Sierra. We have it running and starting well, but a leak in the fuel return line in the front of the engine has occurred. We cannot locate a replacement and wondering if anyone can locate the line pictured or if we need to build one out of Viton. Thanks for your insight.

Many decades ago I made one out of brake line. It wouldn't hurt to flare the ends and use clamps.

Thanks Rick! The only challenge I see with that is the actual line is 1/4" but it narrows down to 3/16" where the rubber return hose come off the injectors. I guess I can put a reducer in line to get it back down to 3/16".

I’ve got a few parts 6.2s, if 82diesel doesn’t have one.
Out of curiosity, do you happen to have the Heat riser Metal line from the driver's side Butterfly flap/valve that goes up the backside of the DRs Cyl head and to the Solenoids? I plan to hook mine back up. But missing the line.

Cool project bringing your father’s Sierra back to life. If you can’t find that exact line, a lot of people just bend a new one from steel or NiCopp and reuse the fittings, or run a short section of Viton fuel hose in that spot. Should be a pretty straightforward fix.

i’ll try to remember to look when I go to my other property, as none of the ones I have here have it. Should be 3 or 4 motors still in that barn. Plan to go get a trans and case from there soon.

Thanks J... He had purchased it new back in 1986 and had it about 90% re-done before he pasted in 2014. My son and I are making good progress, but it keeps springing leaks from sitting so long. We hope to have it on the road this summer.
