Painted the air filter lid satin black. The aluminum was just not cutting it. Even after cleaning it up. -

A pair of pliers and a strong arm. Put a bolt through a hole in the regulator to hold the arms in place.

Re-redid the window regulator. Added another turn to the support spring. It was a PITA, but it works really well now.
