    Quadrajet question

He said JB weld that's made to resist gas is what he used. I'll give it a shot and see how it does before trying to redo it. Intended to do it today but these 100*+ Temps are brutal for the guy with no shop. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

    Quadrajet question

I'd like to do the set screws. How do I get the old epoxy out? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

    Quadrajet question

Funny how things work out. The guy I got it from already switched it over to electric choke, recently rebuilt it, and epoxied the well plugs. Not bad for $60. Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk

    Quadrajet question

My guess would be never touched. Everything on this truck is original and untouched, just beat up. Even the original exhaust and mufflers are on it. Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk

    Quadrajet question

I'm not exactly sure. I'm am getting a pool of gas that slowly builds up on each side of the intake manifold directly below the center of the carb on both sides. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

    Quadrajet question

Thank you guys really helpful. I'm picking up the 17080298 carb tomorrow. Plan is to swap over the choke and run it while I rebuild the 17085213. I'm going to pick up everything I need from Cliffs, seems like the place to go for quads. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

    Quadrajet question

Do you have a picture of the location of the plugs that need to be epoxied on the carb? I have access to some industrial epoxies used at the oil refineries that would probably work. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

    Quadrajet question

I have an 86 gmc 2500 with a 350 v8 and Rochester Quadrajet 17085213. It has electric choke. I am looking at buying a carb from someone local that is 17080298 which is hot air choke and from what I found online was used from 1980-85 on the trucks. My current carb is leaking, so I'm looking at...

    To paint or patina

VHT Rust converter sprays on clear, will darken the rust and stop it from going further. It would would in this case to preserve the patina Clear coating over the rust would not do anything to stop it, it would actually trap moisture and make it worse. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

    Door Panel Restoration ??

I just finished restoring the door panels in my 86. They were worse than your tan ones. I degreased them, wet sanded with 60grit, 120, 220, 400 then degreased again. I used Duplicolor Vinyl spray paint and they came out great. I had previously tried some 2x as expensive vinyl dye (Color Bond)...

    Headlight conversion, harness?

OK looks like their bi-xenon kit gets you the bi-xenon bulb(high/low) and the necessary wiring harness. So if you want both to have high and low then that's the option you want. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

    Headlight conversion, harness?

Post a link to the headlight you're thinking about getting. If it's bi-xenon, it will be low beam and high beam. To clarify, you would have the sealed beam up top and the stock headlight on bottom? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

    Headlight conversion, harness?

Your switch would work the same as stock as long as your hid harness plugs into one of the original headlight plugs. You want a H4 harness, that will have the correct plug. 50w is brighter, but 35w is plenty bright. Downside of 50w is they run hotter, shorter bulb life. The bulbs are actually...
