Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, the hose on my truck terminates with an oval shape so that it fits around the air cleaner snorkel. Now that I have the GM part number, I know that it's just a matter of time before one shows up on eBay, for example.- Smross

OK, it took a while but I was able to find the OE part number at a Chevy dealer. Not surprisingly, the part number has been discontinued. It is: 14004540 Any help appreciated, Best, SM Ross- Smross

I have a stock '79 C10 Custom Deluxe with three-on-the-tree and a 250 six. It's supposed to have a 3.5 inch diameter corrugated hose running from the air cleaner snorkel to the radiator area. All the usual suspects sell the 4" hose for the V8 but none have smaller diameter part...- Smross

350 Engine ID
I just received the casting number found by the bell housing: 100066036 What's interesting is what is embossed above the casting number: "Hecho en Mexico", which I assume is, "Made in Mexico". Does that mean that the block was cast in Mexico or that the engine was built there? Is that a...- Smross

To be honest, I ignored them. Then I got home and started looking at all the Chevy engine ID sites and I realized how important they are. I'm having the guy who has the engine text the numbers to me.- Smross

I've been looking for a 350 to install in my '79 C10 short bed. I found one today but I cannot identify the engine by the numbers found on a flat in the right front corner of the motor. The numbers are: 1MO811 (not sure if the first digit is a 1 or a capital I, same with the 0) 9VP Can...- Smross

Original upholstery available?
Thanks, Chengny. The RPO is 25V and the description is, "VDD1 Blue Vinyl Bench". Hope this helps. I'm located in Central Mass. so NH is close to me. Thanks again. -

Original upholstery available?
My '79 C10 Custom Deluxe has its original interior and while the middle and right sections are like new, the driver's section has some tears in it that I'd like to replace. Does anyone supply original upholstery like the one in the photo? -

Blower motor operates on its own
Chengny, what you say makes perfect sense, however, when the fan does come on it is usually at a higher speed. I should mention that I cannot control fan speed with the fan switch; it either comes on by itself or not at all. Also, if I move the two horizontal levers (temp and heat/defrost)... -

Blower motor operates on its own
My newly acquired '79 C10's blower motor operates randomly on its own. With the heat levers all the way to the left and the fan on low the blower motor will still operate, seemingly on high. Yet there are times when I want to operate the blower it will not work. What the heck is going on...
