    Big block Chevy valve lift

This is my first engine build so I’m sure I am missing something. I am building a 496 with the clay smiths “old school” hydraulic roller cam. Valve lift is .600 intake / .569 exhaust with 1.7 rockers. I’m using comp cams ultra pro magnum 1.7 rockers. I used Jim miller’s method on getting pushrod...

    Sbc 350

So I have a 350 in my 1986 chevy k20 and am having problems with it. Idles fine but once it goes into gear it won’t stay running. It’s been sitting for a while so I changed all the fluids. I’m just wondering where to start. Thanks

    Carb decision

I would like to have cliff rebuild mine, but he has so many coming in that it’ll take a long time for it to be done. On his website it says up to 12 weeks and I don’t really want to wait that long.

    Carb decision

I just contacted cliff about mine and waiting to hear back from him. I saw on his website that it could take up too 12 weeks though. I’ve also been talking to mountain man fuel systems and the carb shop in Ontario California. They both are around $200 for a rebuild plus shipping. Was wondering...

    Carb decision

I have a 1986 Chevy k20 has a 350, Hedman headers 1-5/8, Holley contender intake, dart II heads and a hydraulic flat tappet cam 288/298, lift is .444/.466 and the rpm range is 1600-5200, lobe separation is 112. The truck is more of a weekend driver but I also go mudding. It had the old...

    Cam decision

So I found out which cam I have in the truck right now, it’s a pretty cheap summit racing classic cam, it’s a hydraulic flat tappet 288/298, lift is .444/.466 and the rpm range is 1600-5200, lobe separation is 112. I’m just wondering how much more performance I could get if I decided to switch...

    Cam decision

Would the dart II heads be better with a hydraulic roller cam or a mechanical flat tappet?

    Cam decision

The trucks more of a weekend toy that sees the mud sometimes so I would definitely need low end torque. The truck has 4.10 gears and 35’s. Was also debating on whether to upgrade to 4.56 gears

    Cam swap

What do you have to do with a retro fit cam? I’m a newbie to this stuff so I don’t know a whole lot. Also I have 4.10 gears with 35’s but was possibly planning to go 4.56’s and put a stall in

    Cam swap

What do you guys think of a Howard’s cam 110245-10? The duration at 050 inch is 225/231. The duration is 278/284. The lift is .500/.510 and the operating range is 1600-5400.
