    Carb Opinion

Last year i changed out the carb on my 1977 GMC C15 to an edelbrock and threw the Rochester Quadrajet on the shelf. While organizing the work space I ran across it and got the crazy idea to do a rebuild on it, having never torn into it before. I’d really welcome your thoughts on a good rebuild...

    TH 350 shift issues

FYI - all the shift issues were corrected by installing a new governor. I torn the old one apart and it looks like when I had it at the the transmission shop they drill out the plastic gear to fit the retaining pin and there were some very small shavings that got down in the valve. I had checked...

    Wheel/Tire Opinion

Decided to have the original rims blasted and powder coated white and use the original dog dish hubcaps. Sooooo, the next question is which tire - Cooper Cobra radial or BF Goodrich Radial? Interested to hear opinions.

    Progression Distributor

Just wondering if anyone is running their 350 with the progression distributor with the Bluetooth file capabilities. I haven’t seen any recent updates on its reliability/durability. Thoughts?

    TH 350 shift issues

thanks for the input. I’ve changed the vacuum modulator a couple of times and installed a new rigid line from the manifold to the modulator and measured the vacuum pressure at the manifold and the modulator and it read the same. I have not installed a vacuum gauge and driven it to see if...

    TH 350 shift issues

Still having shift issues with TH350 that won’t shift 2nd-3rd when it‘s warmed up, usually 15-20 minutes of driving. I added a trans cooler and new vacuum modulator with no change. i’m about ready to buy a new governor just to see if that fixes the problem. I’ve given up on the shop that did...

    Timing W/ Manifold vacuum

    Finally got a chance to work on the timing again - here’s what I’ve got timing curve: 750rpm=14 degrees 1000rpm=15 1250rpm=19 1500rpm=24 1750rpm=26 2000rpm=26 3000rpm=26 16...

    Wheel/Tire Opinion

Thanks for all the suggestions/recommendations. I’m still in the process of making a decision. I’m currently running with 1” wheel spacer-like the look with the tire set out a bit so have out in the mix the idea of completely new set of rims with less backspace and get rid of the spacer - a lot...

    Wheel/Tire Opinion

I’m open to all suggestions. I leaning towards a street tread tire (BF Goodrich or Cobra?), a little wider and definitely not taller and a little shorter would do ok also. Thanks for the clarification on what the numbers mean.

    Wheel/Tire Opinion

I‘d like to put a wider tire on my 1977 GMC C15 and looking for recommendations/suggestions. I’m currently running 235/75 R15 on factory steel wheels. I think I’d like to keep the appearance close to original and would welcome recommendations for a good/reliable source for wheels and tire size...

    Timing W/ Manifold vacuum

Thanks for all the help. I worked on setting the timing this weekend and here is where I ended up. Took it for a test drive and no noticeable ping, seemed to run good. idle 650 = timing 12 mechanical advance = 32-12=20 idle 650 timing with vac on manifold vac = 28 3000 RPM with manifold vac = 44

    Timing W/ Manifold vacuum

Thanks for the advice. I’m a rookie when it comes to timing so this may be a dumb question but how do you tell when the mechanical advance comes in?
