    I bought my compressor from Rock Auto for my 88 R20 454 GMB part # 9712214 and it works OK but would not buy one of those again. Someone on here a while back said that if you run a parallel flow condenser and a blue orifice it will work great. Dont know though. Looks like I have a neighbor here...

    Guess I could see that if the clutch was not allowing the fan to free flow enough air. Always learning.

    After 30MPH your fan clutch is useless. Also check your high side pressure at 2000 rpm. Excessive amount will cause higher temps. Should be 275 to 325 max on a hot day with low side around 30. My guess is a clogged lower part of the radiator if all the other checks out. Hope this helps.

    Not sure of the guts of the edelbrock but I would start with 12 degrees on the timing and possible look at the intermediate circuit in the carb. Possibly move up a jet size if that is what is in it. Hope this helps.

    The original TBI system has a speed sensor in the speedometer but I am running an Edelbrock pro-flo so will have to see what the controller setup is when I get it.     06 4L60E swap into my 88 V10

    Has anyone here had any experience with installing a 4L60E 2piece trans into a 91 or earlier V10? I have a controller I just want to get more clear on the flywheel, torque converter, starter problems I may run into. The Trans is out of an 06 Avalanche. I am done with the TV system!

    I go in there just to take that annoying key alarm out. Camp a lot and the keys stay in the ignition and I dont have to listen to it any more! Ha!

    2 WD but I have a complete 4WD drive train in my back yard... It may just find its way under this 3/4 ton. Will leave the 14 bolt in the rear.

    Thanks to all. I can live with that. I did end up with the burb and will be making sure of the knocking noise before I go pulling the motor. I have had loose converter bolts fool me more than once! Best score of my life though on this body!
