NV4500 clunk
I have a NV4500 conversion in my 1985 K20. My trans is a 1993 GM unit. My tower would torque over and clunk my floor cut out. I had to make the hole larger. I know you’ve probably already thought of this and checked clearance. Have you checked your motor mounts? That could cause lots more...- GRK82

Does rollerizing a 454 really make a difference.? Not for racing, just a street brute.
Sounds a lot like my 489. Hydraulic roller, good heads (Dart Pro1), custom grind on cam, high (relatively) lift for a truck motor @ .617, but short duration and 112 degree separation. 10.25:1 comp, and Holley sniper. Yes K20. It has a 2” spring lift (no blocks). I have a 5 speed NV4500 in it and was having floor pan clearance problems so I put a 1 1/4” body lift on it too. That’s all I want and it all works well now.- GRK82

My guess is your cab mounts have fatigued and now there’s not enough clearance. I would unbolt the motor mounts from the cross member and slide the engine forward to clear the trans, the up and over the front support. Will have to remove radiator.
