I found a reputal shop near me... $1,600 for all the bells and whistles plus a rebuilt torque converter for my 700r4 I think I'm going this route... way to much other crap witht he 4l80e (at least for me it is)

Since the gear swap no more coming in and out of OD... I wanted to get the gears out of the way before i decided on a trans. I understand the 4l80e has a stand alone computer as well. I am leaning this route vs beefing up the 700r4. Just don’t want to waste money if it’s not necessary.
yeah thanks, the motor is a stock crate motor but she has 4" of lift with 35's that's why I just put in 4:56's... It would fight to stay in OD and keep down shifting like crazy then back to OD. I didn't want to wipe out the trans. any idea of what it would cost for the 4l80? and what does most...

Thanks for the help... I ordered 4:56's from Yukon with the install kit and seals for around $800. A well known local 4x4 shop is doing the install $750 labor. Fingers crossed...
