Thats what im thinking its a carb issue . Because i just the lines and fuel came out meaning the pump is all good trying to get secound opinions

Hello so i have a 1984 gmc sierra 305 engine .. So before my truck would turn on right away then die out lack of fuel and ruled out it was a fuel pump issue .. Ijust swapped my fuel pump amd now it wont start spark plugs wires battery are new . What could it be? It would crank but no not turn...
I had a 3.8 buick regal and i had jerking like you explained and in my case it was a dirty fuel filter maybe its that?

Hello so i am currently changing the fuel pump on my 84 gmc sierra for now it has a 305 and my fuel pump is going out .. Can a cracked FP gasket be the reason why it loses pressure or ? As for the installation how can i keep the pushrop up so it wont slide down on me while i put the new pump in...
Also im getting smoke from my header idont kno if a gasket went bad or the intake gasket is bad? The trucks temperature is normal when the smoke occurs and its not a whole lot but i would like to fix it any ideas on what it can be? Its on the passanger side

As i think of it right now i belive it is the fuel pump makes more sense because i replaced the SPs .wires . Battery and filters . Good thing is the fuel pumpwhere im located at (bay area CA ) is relatively inexpensive about 20$ at autozone. Thanks for the help sir! [emoji106] once i swap it...
The idle would be rough still but istarted it this morning and it stayed on .ithen connected them and it turned on but the it like died out probally 10 secs later .

These are the ones ileft disconnected where it stayed on longer then having them connected . Im really stuck to as why it wont stay on. Maybe a dirty carb? Or ?
