thanks guys just got it up and running as my daily, still chasing that oil leak but it’s not horrible.
Yes just a one man operation here for now and I don’t have a hoist or anything.

With all this time on my hands I’m wondering if anyone has some tips on the best way to clean up/remove surface rust and eventually undercoat my truck. Is it going to be necessary to tear it apart?
Definitely one of the valve covers, it has a stripped bolt I am planning on fixing this weekend. We will see if that helps and I’ll look into the block numbers also

Here is the part I pulled definitely for the old electric choke but behind it is the last gasket put on That’s where im heading the major leak was from. Thanks for the help everyone.
Yeah since I’ve been working on it I’ve only been starting it up, after I change the oil I’ll be driving it 20 miles daily so we will see if all this helps then last case go for the head gaskets
