I only removed the door panel to check out what was going on. The lower end was still attached it looked like it had a loop on the end and was maybe held by a metal clip. The door still locks so I didn’t mess with anything yet. I’ll remove the other half in the morning

Thanks for all the help. As far as the gear shift indicator I just clipped it on the the plastic sleeve that rotates on the steering column as you shift. I don’t see any screw to attach it too. It seems to be holding and working correctly as I shift.
