I need help with finding a replacement vacuum actuator for heat / air diverter door on my 1987 chevy R10. Is there a diagram that shows this part so, I can possibly get a new actuator?

Could the old one be repaired?

I broke off the vacuum connection from the top of the diaphragm body. I tried to re-glue and even tried to re-melt the connection back onto the body but, my attempts were futile. Any suggestions?

I'll give that a try. Just need to get the connector to be stiff enough to hold the vacuum line on and maintain vacuum to allow the actuator to work properly.

By the way I am not a seasoned computer tech. I do not know how to send pics of anything. Maybe I can get one of my grandkids to help me in that endeavor.

I could use some help with identifying the proper wiring set up on the fuel selector switch for my 1987 Chevy truck. It as of right now only uses the left side tank. If I switch to the other tank the truck quits running. Can anyone help me with this?

I would check the switch valve first. Get under the truck and have someone throw the switch and see if the valve is making noise.

Two options; disconnect the wiring harness off the pollak valve and use a test light to map it out. If you have power on two separate wires (when switched) everything on the truck is fine, change the pollak valve. 2 Take the switch out of the dash, unplug it, use a test light to find the hot and then jump them to bypass the switch and see if the valve moves. 87 fuel tank wiring is a unique year since they went to fuel injection that year, but the pollak valves are the same as the previous years. 87 tank switches are unique to only that year too. I think the below diagram will help.

If you have power on both legs when switched, and you hear the valve moving when you switch it, your problem is probably a bad in-tank fuel pump.

Does this look like the part you need? And does the old one have a part number stamped on it?

I recently ordered some actuators from here:

I also found a couple on EBAY from this guy:

I had to get them from separate sellers since I couldn't find them all in one place. My plan is to replace them all when the AC/Heat goes back in (soon I hope). Some of them are very similar, but may not be listed exactly for a square body. A lot of GM cars and trucks used the same or almost the same actuators. Might have to do a little modification, but the function should be the same.

EDIT: The line about being an associate with EBAY was added by the forum. I am not associated with any of these people.
