Returned dorman to rock auto.
Got a new drive shaft coming from Tom Woods in Utah

I called the number on the Tech support card that came with the Dorman Drive shaft.
PowerTrain Industries makes the drive shaft for Rock auto.
PowerTrain tech guy says they dont catalog/make a front drive shaft for 87 and older chevy 4x4 . The 938-192 driveshaft is for 1988 and newer chevy. So Dorman is Cataloging the '88 and newer drive shaft for 87 and older chevys

Isn't the 88 and newer IFS and metric? It wouldn't come close to fitting. But what about the K30's, Blazers and Burbs, did they not continue the same body style and drivetrain thru 91? But ya, looks like Dorman screwed this up.

I do believe they kept with the same yokes and flanges that were used in the previous years.

I just remembered I picked up a shaft from a newer Dodge (2nd gen I think) because it was free and it seemed like it may be a direct fit other than needing a conversion u-joint. I'll have to get some measurements from it to refresh my memory.

The one of the tech guys didnt have a clue what he was doing or talking about. So much
