Hey people. Glad I found this site.
Doing a long time planned nv4500conversion this winter.
Ok. I have a 89 c3500 2wd dually with 454.
Have had a 9? Nv4500 4wd converted to 2wd. First the code #s on top are missing so not sure what year. It was a Chevy 9? Something though.
The trans is hydraulic with a shifter fork. Bell housing came with and I got the pedal assembly too. It also has the dampener on the tail shaft.
What info would you need to enable me to get the correct parts and recommendations on which clutch assembly to get.
It’ll pull an enclosed 28 ‘ race car trailer.
Thanks in advance. If someone needs more info let me know.

I think so. Clicked on transmissions conversion. Is this just for 4wd only ?

I think Richard was just giving you a hard time about the multiple meanings that could be inferred about what might be involved in a "Trans Conversion" as opposed to a "Transmission Conversion".

I think @SquareRoot has converted his to an NV4500, but his is a 4wd. In theory the 2wd should be much more simple than a 4wd conversion since you don't have to worry about T-case adapters.

My issue is making sure I order the correct parts.
Any help on determining exactly what TRANSMISSION I have would be a good start.
Need to get this right on first try. As you know they aren’t lite.
