That's kind of cool actually. I wonder if a large bore is in the works.

JMO, I'd stay with the ole carb.

I want to. I want a quadrajet. I contacted quadrajet power about getting one built, they said they could, and I then replied back with additional information and my phone number. Their website says email is best. Crickets.

I also considered a Holley 4160, and the kit from 12 Bolt Tom that converts it to a three barrel. The kit blocks off one primary, but leaves the secondaries free for WOT. Since quadrajet power hasn't responded, I was set to buy a 4160 directly from Holley, but they were sold out of the refurbished ones. If I am going to be modifying a 4160, I am not going spend full amount on a new unit.

So I meandered to the EFI section and saw this 2GC setup. I could use the factory C60 air cleaner assembly I bought that fits both the monojet and 2GC. Since both quadrajet and 4160 options fizzled out, this 2GC setup seems like a great option for this 292 that will be around 300hp at 5500 and around 300tq across the board.

I do have a 2GC which has been considered as an option as well.

The monojet will be a tad undercarbed with this engine. Crusty Biscuit is used as a truck, and as a touring vehicle. I am looking for the best economy possible from the old beast. I believe that it can get better than the 12mpgs it currently gets. Just need the best air/fuel delivery mixer to dump in the mixture.

I like the idea. If it fits in your budget and don't mind spending the cash on it, go for it if you want to try it out. If we all did everything the most economical way possible, there would be no creativity in our projects.

I would jump on it and dump the carb. The holley sniper kit is built right here in Bowling green KY.

For fuel only they are great. They get touchy when using timing control. Avoid the temptation to use that an they work really well. In a mostly stock motor application an hei does a perfectly fine job.

I've had my standard sniper for over 3 yrs an probably 25k miles now. One of the best things I've done but I am going back to an hei to help cut down on the intermittent noise issues that cause it to stall.

Thanks everyone for the replies. It's pricey. The thing that I like is it's tunable, much more than a carb for the finicky desires of the Chevy I-6s.

This is part of my thinking. Most everyone has that modifies the I-6s either goes 4 barrel, stays with the 1 barrel, or goes with Weber's, or multiple carbs. I want one, not two or three.

The only hesitation on the efi is the cost.

I like this efi systems (I also like carbs) and if it fit's your budget, go for it. If you enjoy driving the truck even more after the upgrade it's money well spent. Friend of mine converted his k5 with a 454 from a 72 chevelle to efi and was super happy. Starts instantly when turning the key and lowered the fuel consumption ~ 20% (depending on the right foot).

The 292 isn't in the truck yet, but will be soon. So I don't have any real world driving experience with that engine yet. From the dyno charts done by 12 Bolt Tom, my engine will be very close to the 292 with the lumped 1.94 valves and performance cam he used for those runs, and the torque will be there constantly. https://www.12bolt.com/65279inline-cylinder-head-flow65279.html It will have an increase of at least 72cfm flowing through the engine over stock. Tom says the lumps and a cam change is about 100hp increase!

I have options, but need to figure out which fuel/air delivery system I want to use on this build. I have the go ahead from my wife when it comes to buying parts. We each have our own accounts and a joint account for bills, so as long as the bills are paid she doesn't care.
