I have a few dualjets are they the same as 2g

I'm no expert on these carbs. I know mine has 2 Jet on the top. I wonder if DualJet is the large bore 2G. Then there is the VariJet, which from what I've seen is like half of a quadrajet, with the small primary and large secondary. I've heard those varijets are prone to failure on the secondary side and causing engine damage when a rod or whatever comes loose and gets sucked into the engine and embeds a piston.

I remember reading an article years ago where someone ran a mpfi setup on a 292 and they could not get good fuel distribution due to the shared ports.

Seems odd.... why would air/fuel distribution be any different directly at the port than it is injecting it at the carb mount plate?

I would jump on it and dump the carb. The holley sniper kit is built right here in Bowling green KY.

Maybe, but the $1000 I spent on my Sniper was the biggest mistake I ever made. That POS was the biggest headache I've ever had.

That is why I have reservations. But man it would be cool to have EFI. For now, it will be good old original equipment carburetor. Well, original equipment for the 283, but still a 1965 carb, in a 1965 truck, going on a 1966 engine.

Just ordered the rebuild kit for the 2g. Coming from Washington, so should have it by Saturday. Camshaft ordered yesterday, that should be here by Monday. Now I need an Offy manifold, and have the 2g adapter made.

I'm not discounting his experience at all. I'm not saying he did anything wrong either. We've had a few discussions about it an I dont want to start that up again. I've had a few now I couldn't get the issues worked out of an they went back to a carb too. But for all the bad reviews you see, there are 5 other units out there without issues that you never hear about. I've lost count of the ones I've setup after a bad install an the owners couldn't be happier with them now....

My large bore version has "2 Jet" cast in on the top.

Couldn't tell you. I'm sure there's some scientific reasoning that would explain it, but I don't know what it is. The article I read, I'm nearly certain they went to a TBI setup and it ran fine after that. It's been a number or years though.

Working out the details on the adapter plate. Then he'll mill it, and ship it.

Last night I was searching for an Offenhauser intake to purchase, and found an Aussie Speed instead. I like the waffle pattern under the carb.

Not cheap, but it would have been around the same for the Offenhauser. It was cheaper than buying it from the Aussie Speed website. And it was a needed item no matter what I did, so there's that.

It's interesting that it looks like it already has the bosses cast in it to drill for fuel injectors.

Not sure, but there is extra material on the top, and conveniently angled like injectors would be.
