Hey everyone! I am new to this forum as I just bought a 1985 C10 shortbed Chevy truck. Currently it is all stock and I want to lower the truck with 20's front and 22's on the rear. But not wanting the "slammed" look. Does anyone have suggestions or pics I can see? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. I've not seen any pictures of a setup like that of any forum members' trucks here that I recall. Your best bet may be a Google image search for that setup.

Before your truck was lowered, how was it sitting? Did it have a rake look? My truck is sitting level. If I am measuring correctly, with a 4/6 kit the rear of my truck will sit lower. However, The tire sizes I want to run are front 28" and rear 30". I know this would compensate for the rake look I am trying to achieve. Here is a pick of my stock truck...

Truck looks darn skippy @plckidd

I think you will be good with the different sizes in the front and rear like you have planned.
But we shall see as you work through it.

Myself, I like 18 wheels and more sidewall on my tires.

This one is pretty much a 4/6 on a 20/22 combo.

I like the sidewall on a tire as well. I like the 'Hot Rod' look! After doing some more research, I may end up going with 20's on all 4 and sticking with the same size tires as I mentioned before.
Would you recommend the Belltech 4/6 or Mcgaughy's 4.5/6 kit?

I would love to have an opinion on that for you, but alas, I have a 3/4 ton.
My lowering options are much fewer than for a 1/2 ton truck.
So I have not done any research for the lighter trucks.

There are many here that have thought and I am sure they will chime in soon.

Mcghauys, the belltech kit is a 3" spindle an a 1" spring. Those 1" drop springs usually don't drop the truck any over a 40 y/o stock spring. I have seen them actually raise a truck some. If you want belltech stuff buy it individually an get a 2" spring.

So here’s my 87 before any drop, on rallys. Then a 3/5 drop on 20” all around...my other truck i posted is a project that came with 20”/22” and a mild drop in the rear with shackles and hangers. Still have the original spindles up front, and there might be shorter springs, but hadn’t taken em out to check.

79 sittin on 20” / 22” with shackles and hangers out back and (probably) drop springs up front

the stepside gonna look different than your fleetside, but if I had the chance to start fresh, I’d just say **** it and go all in... tuck 22s on all corners and go 5/7 with your drop

I did the drop spindles and 1” lowering springs and the C-notch axle flip. I’m running 20’s all the way around.

looks great! How much did you lower the truck?
