Little while back, someone posted pics of a dual inlet air breather, where as the lines take in fresh air from both the driver and passenger side of the rad support.


Who was that, and where did you find it?

I made my own from a spare air cleaner housing and duct. Cut a hole in air cleaner housing, weld spare inlet piece to housing, attach spare hose and put the adapter in the radiator support. Factory looking dual fresh air intake.

Same procedure for me, but I didn’t have any sort of adapter for attachment to the radiator core support. I found abs pipe at the hardware store that was the correct size to fit inside the flexible intake hose so it was just a matter of gluing, sanding, and painting to make it look decent.

Someone had mentioned they used parts from a dodge of the vintage and their originalto make the dual. I dont see why you couldnt use a factory driver-side gm product such as a 75 grand am in addition to the factory passenger.

Would definitely make my own if you really want one. Looked on ebay and holy crap are they expensive! I've got one that came off my old firebird, almost temped to sell it on ebay now, lol.

Home made with a second GM snorkel added. Taylor, what I explained was how I saw the dodge duel snorkel was not ported to any stove pipe hot air. The vacuum valve was ported to manifold vacuum.

I'd like to make one some day. Just cause lol.

On the subject, going from the non snorkeled air filter to a snorkeled one to bring fresh air, do you or anyone think I'd see an improvement?

Definitely.
The non snorkel breather is arguably taking in heat from the motor.
The cooler the air, the better she runs.

For example I flipped the lid on my breather upside down just to see if higher air flow would make a difference, turns out it wasnt running as good...

Got to thinking... OK...

Heat rises... You have a big vacuum drawing air.... Therefore, it's sucking in heat from the motor.....

I flipped it back around and immediately noticed better performance.

You'd really only see a noticeable difference in in higher rpms.

Just lugging around the farm, no.

I wind my small blocks up then shift going down the road.

Only way to run a small block.

It's also hotter down there. I'd imagine during winter up here vs summer down there is quite a jump in ambient temps that the engine sucks in lol. I should find my old 400 air filter intake(only 4 barrel carb cover I have) and get a snorkel to the fresh air hole in the support..

I added the second snorkel using as many stock parts that I could pull at the wreckers. The punch out was there on the drivers side just had to knock it out then install the blocker thingy into the rad support. I believe it was a wheel bearing cap that I used to block the heat tube under that drivers side snorkel. I made a small tin housing to get heat from the right header, not sure if it was worth the time for the little heat it can grab but looks kind of stock. Yes there is a bar broken in my grill (crow, rip) and for the southern guys the snaps are for a winter front that snaps on and blocks off the cold air coming in so you can get some heat.

I remember that pic. I saw one I think on here recent with two inlets bit no Jose to the firewall.
