My 78 big ten had a 12 bolt 5 lug rear that i swapped to a 10 bolt but kept my backing plates and brakes. My question is i want to swap in 6 lug axles but need to know what drums to use. Anyone have a clue? Would 6 lug drums from a 4x4 12 bolt work?

From what I skimmed online. As long as spline count is the same, if not swap spiders. You have both brake assemblies, see which one fits.

I know i have 30 splines in it because my 12 bolt was 30 and i kept them. My issue is what drums i need to use since my big ten has different size shoes then normal. I think im gunna buy 78 k10 drums n try

From a few quick looks at specs on autozone if i have the big brakes, drums from a 78 k10 have the same inside diameter so maybe theyll be compatible

Most likely gunna be a 15" stock ralleye 10" wide. But im looking to put these right on due to having brand new tires already on. Theyre 16" probly 7 or 8 wide.

I almost bought those tires. I went with Patagonia M/T. I liked the tread pattern more and the more rubber in the center of the tire I thought would ride quieter on road and wear better.
