Ok so I just picked up this truck and it doesn’t have the correct stock steering wheel. So I go to check horn and pull off the cover and see there’s no wire on steering wheel cap. I used my screwdriver to make contact and the horn sounded off once and no more??? I can hear the horn relay click whenever I make contact but no horn. The truck has all new wire harness from engine side firewall out and new horns as well. Could it possibly be the relay it does look original?

It's probably not the relay or the horns. Most likely something isn't right with the horn button parts. I'd recommend getting the correct steering wheel and all the horn button parts on eBay/junk yard

That sounds like the turn signal cam is causing the issue then.

I agree. Something’s wonky with the canceling cam, but I’d review what you have for contact parts and see what a horn contact kit is supposed to look like just to be safe. I wouldn’t run a non-GM steering wheel personally, but that’s not for everyone. Also, it’s pretty easy to directly test the horns if you ever need to. Just run a ground leg to the metal bracket from the battery and your hot wire to the single pin. Should go beep beep, albeit at a higher or lower pitch since it’s just one.

Check to see that the electrical connector ( long skinny black connector ) on the bottom of the column is completely plugged in.

Something like this :

My brake lights would not work, but everything else would, because this had somehow worked it's way loose when I 1st had the truck.

Swapped out turn signal switch still no turn signals. But I also noticed the light don’t light up on dash when hazard lights flash.

Did they flash before with the hazards?

Do the turn signals flash outside the truck, but not on the dash, or not at all ?

Not sure what year - I will guess 78 - the connector size on the turn signal switch changed.

Wondering if you have the correct switch.

And, can you try plugging the old switch in to the harness - doesn't have to be in the column- to see if maybe it was just a bad connection?

It’s a 73 blazer Lights on dash wouldn’t flash at all but turn signals worked on outside and flashers also. Now only flashers work on outside no turn signals either side. I thought might be turn signal switch but put in a new one and still nothing. I’m gonna be swapping out the dash for a Dakota Digital next week I will see if I can find the problem once the dash is out.

Do the wires on the 2 meeting connectors match?
Are there any extra or missing in either connector?
